I had been playing around with this concept for 6 years now, and i still cant come up with a counterbalancing solution that's practical. I even thought of ballast tanks at both ends of the bike that were controlled by the throttle and brake. as you accelerate, ballast is moved to the front, and as you brake, to the rear. but i ran into a problem with size and location practicality.

@shipokitabangbang1 Forward to back it would be balanced in a similar way to the segway I would think. Ballast tanks may only be good at high speed as there would be no way the pumps could keep up with the constant demand.... Ignoring all problems with weight and size.

There was a monocycle similar to this on the cover of Popular Mechanics  a while back that I think was designed in Quebec. Check it out.

this is an interesting concept, i ride a unicycle, and on a unicycle you have control 100 percent of the time (you have fixed cranks- like on a very small kids bike) anyway it would be impossible to keep your balance if you could freewheel, you would need to learn every aspect of the engine before you could ride this, a slight engine malfunction or your hand slipping and youd fall off backwards. the braking is the least of your worries most unicycles have a brake.
