I look at science fiction fan sites, and the feedback on Space 1999 is they attempted to be too scientific, it is not that it is about technology, but they would bore us with how to protect ourselves from radiation using known science, like telling how a radio works to use it; in Star Trek they would go with shields on and it is flash and special effects, but in Space 1999 they piled it up with dirt, seemed artless. I felt there was another level, we shot a moon through a black hole (Q?).
Great adaptation of this great song and Space 1999 which was one of my favorite 70s series. I also used part of this song a couple of months ago to compile a presentation of photos from one of my trips, it's excellent music for presentations.
i remember i watched this when i was 7..now i'm 38. i'm still a big fan of the Eagles and i can sketched an Eagle in school and all my classmates used to be stunt with my skill.
they never got home is not correct, we don't know what happened to them because the series was cancelled. Space 199 will be remade and then maybe we will get the answer to that. :)
Actually there was one episode where a few of the Alpha Personnel did get back to Earth (for a short time); the episode was: Journey to Where...But, unfortunately it was only: Commander Koenig, Helena Russell, and Carter...And they unfortunately ended up in the Distant Past...
"Lux Aeterna, eternal light") is a composition by Clint Mansell, the theme song and leitmotif of Requiem for a Dream, and the penultimate piece in the Requiem for a Dream score.
Well, I assume it's because the dream score title is more recognizable to people. A lot of people have not heard of Lux Aeterna so they, like myself, use the more familiar Requiem for a Dream.
Thank you though for bringing this error to my attention.
Congrats to the video maker. Awesome music. Lisa Gerrard from the dead can dance isnt it? I was five at those days. PC didn t exist for at least another decade. And I am talking about Greece it is. My son cant think of a time that PC s didnt exist and playstation wasn t there. We are those to stand and observe the great changes of the last 20 years and wonder in awe and respect about the years to come. I smile and love.
Really nice - great visual summary of the show and its setting/props/characters. The music is absolutely appropriate for the themes of the show. It was always dark and about finding small triumphs and maintaining hope in an impossible situation (before the plots got too fantastical).
I love the series. The first year was the best. The tone was more serious and reflective and free of wacky monsters. I love all the little details of the production. Their radios with a samll image monitor, their guns that didn't look like pistols, the transport systems in Alpha, the beauty of design of the eagles (outside and inside) and a long list of etc's. It made you think of a distant cousin of "2001 Space Odyssey". In fact, its tittle suggests this intention. I was seven years old!
i was about that age also and this shit scared me,it was always so bleak and gloomy. i had the lunch box and i loved this show but now it seems so cheeeeesy with the funk music. lol.i wonder if they ever thought that we would not be living in space by the year 08 and still acting as dumb humans fighting over land and oil.they had such i hopes im sure they would be disapointed to know we have done nothing in the last 40 years but fight over religion and oil.sad.
I do agree. I don't know what is in this (crapy) music that so many people get stucked on it. Spoiling, movie trailers -even Lord Of The Rings!-, good editings (as this one) etc.

Hi the music on you piece has another science fiction connection.
Paramount used it for "Mirror Darkly" the two part Season 4 epsiode of Star Trek Enterprise. This the dark version of Earth as an empire.
Space 1999 will always be part of my life.

The song is Lux Aeterna, not Requiem for a Dream.
