People get the skeleton key once you turn lvl 10 sooooo useful if you go leyawin go out the right side and walk up you will find a shrine do the quest and you get the skele key (unbreakable lockpick)

I must be severely gimped out for my level. I think I am level 29 or something, and the liches at the end rape me. They reflect my spells, silence me, burden me, and they even appeared to be reflecting melee damage too, though I'm not too sure about that one. I may have to start a new character and do these quests before I am this high level, because it appears to be impossible right now (360).

@brawyn777 Use Soul Trap on a Grand Soul Gem at a Necromancer Alter, but it has to be on a certain night. You can also sometimes find them on Necromancers, so I've heard but never tried.

if ur lvl 10, go to the nocturnal shrine NE of Leyawin, do the quest, your reward is an UNBREAKABLE lockpick, "Skeleton Key." Then you will never need another lockpick.

If your not lvl 10, then join the Thieves guild, then you can buy lockpicks, from fences or doyens.

Btw a lich is not a transformed necromancer, and the reason you may have seen this is because you proably did it at a higher level so they put out harder monsters

three weeks late but if it can still help:

make the soul trap staff or use the soul trap spell and hit a creature, then kill it with a soul gem in your inventory and it should say you captured a soul

after you capture a soul what can you do with it

this reply is late and you probably already know what you wanted to know so apologies

after capturing a soul it will have a soul rating:

petty, common, greater, grand etc.

and this means how many points it will recharge an enchanted weapon

e.g a weapon with charge say 140/300

use a soul gem with petty soul it will recharge the weapon by 150 points making it 290/300

higher rated souls will recharge by higher amounts

all you have to do to get a little money is to do all the mages guild recommendations and while ur doing that sell all the soul gems u find in the guild to the alchemist

you know some of the hardest ghosts on the game are faded wraths, i have a level 100 account and when people summon them they still mess me up. although he is not even that far, plus quite cursing!
