  • Very nice playing.... but, a note to anyone who might be using this video to learn Man of Aran: usually the 4th measure of the A part is played differently. (Yes, I know that different people play tunes differently. But still, in the versions I've heard, that 4th measure is the most distinctive, most interesting bit of the tune, so I'm not sure why they simplified it in their arrangement.)

  • @bdcgm Is there a video to look at with the usual arrangement somewhere?

  • @davedupplaw Oops -- I just looked around, and now it appears that no two people play that 4th measure quite the same, so I was wrong to think the version I know is standard. FWIW the version I know, from NYC area players, has the following for the fourth measure of the A part (which I think sounds nicer): G B B B F# B B B

  • Love that version of Monaghan Twig...

  • Hey look, Clark Kent is playing the flute!

Hah, awesome playing all of y'all, and the tunes are excellent! Tara and Cathal are a mighty duet.

  • Excellent. Thanks!

The tunes are, in order, The Man of Aran (composed by Darach de Brun), La Cosa Mulligan (composed by Tommy Peoples), and The Monaghan Twig.
