When I was a kid, I thought the turtles would look silly. Like a guys wearing make up or somthing. But they looked awsome in this movie, it's like their real.
Am I the only one (bet I'm not!) who's glad there's no orchestra or "the dramatic choir" behind this trailer music? Not only would it NOT fit a Ninja Turtles video as well as this funky beat but this synthesizer stuff's the kind of music that was significant for all action movie trailers at the time. I love it!
"We have a message for you ms.O'Neil...shut it!" best line along with "big turtle in a trench coat, you goin to La Guardia right?" One of the best comic/show to live action movies.
WHATTTTTT FUCKINNNN SONG IS THIS ?!?!?!?!?!?! I BET NO ONE CAN FIND THIS SONG IT'S NOT ON THE SOUNDTRACK IT'S NOT LISTED IN ANY COPYRIGHTS WHAT THE FUCKKKKK THIS IS REALLLY REALLY PISSING ME OFF
We're streaming the entire original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, all 193 episodes, all 10 seasons, at 2:30 EST on Saturday at livestream (dot) com/sobelive
Its not a matter of what looks better or moves better, its a matter of what's tangible, something that feels like its there. The characters in Avatar look like cartoons and when contrasted against the human characters, it looks silly. The turtles, while a bit silly, are easier to see as being there because they are.
Amazing video!! I love the turtles tons!!! Cept in this video those aren't any of the real voice actors! I just watched the movie too!! Still awesome though:)
Just watched the film just now and brings back great memories from when I was a kid!! Bit like watching my son with ben 10 now he's obsessed with it :)
Here's my opinion on all 4 of the TMNT films: TMNT - relates to the comics. TMNT2 - to much like the 80s cartoon. TMNT3 - waste of time. TMNT(2007) - keeps the dark tone of the comics.
@pacrox2 not at all. Barney has been a joke since it started. The person that made these costumes was the all mighty Jim Henson who died after the second TMNT film was made which is why in the third TMNT the costumes suck. Jim Henson is credited with also making the Muppets and Sesame Street puppets
When I was a kid back when this came out (5 years old) I thought this movie was so dark and awesome and kept this memory... only to realize once I saw it again during adulthood that it's actually cheezy as hell... and pretty shitty! :D good times.
This movie is proof that practical effects are a million times better than CGI. This movie still REALLY holds up today. Not only do you believe that the turtles and Splinter are there, but you're able to empathize with them. Tell me you weren't sad when the turtles show up at April's when Splinter was gone.
Avatar had to pull out a lot of stops to even get me to believe that the Navi were people, let alone get me to care...
@ZyxthePest I didn't. The biggest fucking problem for me is the fact that humans can't live on their planet and are only there to strip mine it, yet they resort to send in ground troops when, they could just shoot asteroids at it, kill everything from space, and then safely land and take the minerals they want.
@ZyxthePest- Ya I was never interested in Avatar, its like watching a computer, not a movie, this is a real movie, from the 20th century when there was good movies
@ZyxthePest I think good CG will always beat good animatronics. I think most people want to hate on CG because they want to believe it's a cop out effect, or is often used when the writing is clearly lacking - but well done CG will ALWAYS win as far as being more convincing than puppets.
Still my favorite movie.... too bad they killed the appeal of TMNT with all the crappy sequels and crappy cartoon shows. THIS is the TMNT I fell in love with. The movie that made me have my mom buy all the toys and memorvilia for. I think I still have my original VHS of this movie xD Unfortunately, I think I still have the other 2 movies on VHS as well. Such crappy sequels.
This is a terrible trailer. But this movie was sick. When this movie came out I waited 2 HOURS in line with my mom because the theatre was so packed I couldn't get in.
I loved this movie as a kid, and it still makes me smile to this day. It's funny, exciting, has a great sound track, packed with martial arts, and is even touching in several scenes(the scene with the boy and his father near the end still moves me). All in all, a great movie.
I remember not getting to see it on the first day because it was sold out... and also remember this trailer vividly. This was the best of the TMNT films, it was only downhill after it. I'm hoping and wishing that the 2011 reboot is faithful to the vibe and spirit of this and the original comics... no point not to, the kids today haven't gotten as into the Turtles as we did. Make it for us, the older generation, we're the ones that will pay to see it.
when i 1st saw this in theaters they had a pizza eating contest because of the film i could have won if my mom would have let me enter lolol but thank to the tmnt i love pizza to this day
@android17ak47 I think he was referring to the fact that for the trailer of this movie, they didn't use the actual voices of the people that voiced them in the actual movie. For some reason they used different voices for the trailer. I love Mikey's voice for these movies
@EliDeli21 I accidentally gave you a thumbs up. The voices in the trailer aren't their real voices throughout the actual movie. If that's what you're talking about then I understand where you're coming from.
haha man I love the ninja turtles. I have Mikelangelo slippers, and I quote this movie all the time. None of my friends know what I am talking about. I am 16 and I am very old school... but that is okay, because I think the movies and music made back before I was born was a heck lot better than what it is now. except the movies are kinda awesome. But the music, heck yes it was amazing back when Blondie was popular. I wish I was born in the 60's!
@Batman8657 As a proud sponsor of little league baseball pizza hut welcomes all the kids who make it great. makin'it great. Damn what a flasback. I remember that from the old vhs.

I can't believe i now own all three movies. all for $15.00. And i enjoy all of them. their better then the crap thats coming out today and their not all in
3D!!!! >_> I hate 3D. weren't we in this 3d craze in the 90s and it didn't turn out so well??? DON"T WE LEARN ANYTHING FROM HISTORY?!?
Picked up the DVD for $5 @ WalMart. The last time I watched this was about 15 years ago when I was 6. It was cool seeing it again... I didn't remember anything from this film however everything just started popping back in my head during each scene. I never realized this film was very dark but hey, if you grew up watching this and Tim Burton's Batman then it's normal to you.
My bro entered us into a newspaper competition to win tickets to see this before the release date. We won! Along with 2000 other people:> 4 tickets each. I still remember there were four cinemas, each with a different turtle outside. While waiting, my bro's friend dared someone to pull off Raph's head when we passed. Anywho, I've still got my green vhs copy of Turtles.. It's GREEN :O
Honestly, who doesnt love this movie?

There's strikes on the batter, some runners are on.
Then suddenly everyone's looking at me
My mind has been wandering, what could it be?
They point at the sky and I look up above
And a baseball falls into my glove
I play right field, it's important you know
You gotta know how to catch, you gotta know how to throw,
That's why I play in right field, way out where the dandelions grow

I can't believe i now own all three movies. all for $15.00. And i enjoy all of them. their better then the crap thats coming out today and their not all in
3D!!!! >_> I hate 3D. weren't we in this 3d craze in the 90s and it didn't turn out so well??? DON"T WE LEARN ANYTHING FROM HISTORY?!?
I miss the 90s.

Mikey's voice is all weird at the end when he says "I love being a turtle" must have been a different voice actor

@ThrobnWood I had that green cassette too. Unfortunately it got eaten by my old VHS player, so I smashed it in with a hammer!
