that is awesome....lol....i hope u keep her...that could happen to anyone..did the tide come back in and u sailed away...? you should of included footage of sailing off..now no one believes you...LOL
That second boat out in the water...were they saying, " hey retards on shore it sure sucks your boat isn't in the water unlike ours, well we are going home now to make a good dinner and sleep in our beds see you next high tide, lol"
Careening your boat was always done in the old days. I am certain the skipper was able to check his zincs, give her a little scrub and is off sailing (hopefully around the world). For all sailors, it is not whether you have hit ground, but when..... Check the location of the rudder shaft/post to the mizzen as that will tell whether it is a ketch or a yawl. If I was a betting man, I would say yawl, but it is hard to tell.
I am oh so glad that she floated off safely. Curious as to how she got there and, given the coastal topography of Maine, how did she find a sandy beach. Bottom job looks very fresh. <grin>
one way to inspect the bottom i suppose....

Good time to scrub the algae off the stern. Boat is certainly in good shape. You must be rich or something.

Well, if your going to ground in Maine a nice soft beach is the place to do it. I hope you were able to get the boat off ok after the tide returned.

the penalty for such a grievous mistake should be the immediate forfeiture of the boat's title..... to me.... :)

It looks like a 39 or 41 foot Concordia Yawl - rare and lovely boat - shame it had to take such a thrashing - probably broke many wood ribs. Ouch!

stand by for kedging and hope for calm seas. Serious tides in those high lats.

It's definitely a Yawl as the rear spar of the rear mast ( which also aft of the wheel)is visibly sticking well out beyond the stern.
