  • one way to inspect the bottom i suppose....

  • Lucky that your main mast didn't break.........must have some fresh rigging.

  • its ok to to beach it , BUT, next time PLEASE face the deck towards shore!!!!!!!

  • that is awesome....lol....i hope u keep her...that could happen to anyone..did the tide come back in and u sailed away...? you should of included footage of sailing off..now no one believes you...LOL

  • that is awesome....lol....i hope u keep her...that could happen to anyone..did the tide come back in and u sailed away...?

  • I call it.

    This applies to salvage rights.

  • ha at the beginning i thought it was gonna be the "boats and hoes" music video lol

  • ive been to butter island, its great. where do you sail out of?

  • wow, butter island. i went there a few years ago, its a fun place. where do you sail out of?

  • a sad looking ship,,, but it just may be low tice,,, all the sailes r down and at ancor,,,XXX

  • Good time to scrub the algae off the stern. Boat is certainly in good shape. You must be rich or something.

  • one word: american fucking idiots :) no maritime people thats for sure.

  • @pootubeftw , yes they are americans jajaa good one!!!

  • Well, if your going to ground in Maine a nice soft beach is the place to do it. I hope you were able to get the boat off ok after the tide returned.

  • That second boat out in the water...were they saying, " hey retards on shore it sure sucks your boat isn't in the water unlike ours, well we are going home now to make a good dinner and sleep in our beds see you next high tide, lol"

  • Lucky there wasnt a storm.

  • the penalty for such a grievous mistake should be the immediate forfeiture of the boat's title..... to me.... :)

  • eaither that person is retarded for putting that boat close to shore or he/she is trying to get the barnicals off like the pirates did lol

  • It looks like a 39 or 41 foot Concordia Yawl - rare and lovely boat - shame it had to take such a thrashing - probably broke many wood ribs. Ouch!

  • Do it yourself hull maintenance?

  • Nice Paint Job!

  • I was thinking the same thing. No sea growth or anything. Very nice.

  • I was wrong. this is a yawl sorry

  • this is a ketch

  • I bet it was Hancock!

  • LOLZ UBER PWNED.

  • stand by for kedging and hope for calm seas. Serious tides in those high lats.

  • It's definitely a Yawl as the rear spar of the rear mast ( which also aft of the wheel)is visibly sticking well out beyond the stern.

  • yeha it is a yawl

  • had to much wine,, huh , sure would hate to have a hangover leaning over in my berth

  • I just love this. Glad all is well. Hope to see you out there in never never land.

  • Careening your boat was always done in the old days. I am certain the skipper was able to check his zincs, give her a little scrub and is off sailing (hopefully around the world). For all sailors, it is not whether you have hit ground, but when..... Check the location of the rudder shaft/post to the mizzen as that will tell whether it is a ketch or a yawl. If I was a betting man, I would say yawl, but it is hard to tell.

  • is that a Yawl?

  • a yawl or a ketch

  • Hi,

Great Video! I have a funny storty or two about crews who forgot that there are tides... but enough said.

    :-)

  • thnaks. didn't forget entirely, just underestimated a bit that day...

Nice footage on the First 40.7.

    H

  • @hstehli

" a bit" ? the whole fucking boat is practically out of the water with like one foot to spare ;)

  • hi crew,

    water, it´s the water stupid!!!

but anyway, i like your video...

    keep on truckin`...

  • Stop waisting time and start painting that bottom. LOL

  • Do you want to sell your Dyer Dhow? :)

  • Very attached to her, I'm afraid....

  • I would be worried if you weren't. Wishful thinking though...... :)

  • Glad for the Happy ending, who is the musician and the song?

    Thanks

    AMc

  • Damien Rice, "Cold Water."

  • WOW

  • Too bad we couldn't see it float off.

  • That'll learn yer! Read up yer tides next time.

  • note to self, check tide chart

  • So, as a new sailor, how did this happen?

  • ouch

  • I am oh so glad that she floated off safely. Curious as to how she got there and, given the coastal topography of Maine, how did she find a sandy beach. Bottom job looks very fresh. <grin>

  • Heck of a tidal range in Maine, eh?

  • Sad but beautiful video; I'm glad she floated off ok. Fofer is a true beauty.

    Happy Sails :)
