Last night, my sister had to go to the ER with an irregular heart beat. They did a few tests and just monitored her heart for an hour or two to see if it would get better on it's own. It was just pvc's but they were happening every few seconds. After they got her lab results back, they saw that her magnesium level was low, so they administered magnesium through her iv and gave her potassium and within minutes, her pvc's stopped and didn't come back.
