@TheSamCharlie I don't use a camera with sound. I use an SLR still photo camera. All sound for animation is done separately and then combined with the picture during the editing process.

Stop motion animation is done by moving the figures a small amount, taking a picture and moving them again a small amount over and over and over again. After you've captured all of the individual frames they are complied together into a timeline. That is when they can all be played back in sequence and the figures appear to be in full motion. You can use any camera to capture an image, even a photo camera. Then you get an editing program to compile the fames into your movie.
