How much gray do you have. My dyed hair is blonde all my roots are gray. I would like to stay golden blonde with darker roots. I used to have my hair dyed golden blonde with bleach high lights, but now I have a allergy to hair color. How are you using henna and still staying blonde you do not look gray to me. Does the HP bleach out some on the gray to look blonde? What does it do to the henna?

letting it over an hour doesnt change anything. more than that is not more effective!

@hamudito9 - Hi there, easy. Depends .on hair length. Mix with water till like yogurt consistency, enough to cover your hair. Cover bowl with plastic for 12 hours in warm spot, wrap in towel is good. Then apply to damp hair from 1 - 4 hours usually. Wrap hair in plastic and wrap w/towel. DO A TEST STRIP OF HAIR FIRST TO SEE THE COLOR. If you are blonde, don't leave in more than 1 hour.

Henna is a specific plant that only comes in one color -- it only stains hair orange to auburn, depending on how strong it is. If you do not get a red or orange result, what you used is not henna. If you add indigo (a blue-green plant dye) to henna, you get orange + blue + green, which looks brown on hair. 100% indigo = icky green. If you indigo OVER rinsed out henna, you get darker brown to black. Pale yellow stains = cassia. They are not all henna.

Oh my ! Maybe try one more henna, at least it's red and not green. I noticed that too, that indigo doesn't always show blue but green ??!!

it turned my grey roots to a pretty green ......lol.......ugg..i used the indigo after but still greener....henna it again it turned a little more brown but still greenish around border....ill never do it again......ok for brown hair though with just a little grey

Coincidence, I was also born strawberry & it turned blonde, funny thing, no one else is blonde in my family, everyone thought I was going to be a redhead. Anyway, yeah, henna is a much better alternative to hair dye, it looks more natural and of course it's so much better for your hair. For those who don't want really red hair, the trick is to get the formula so that you get some color but not too much. I think cassia is also goood for blondes as well as turmeric. i used henna for the first time a few months ago.i just reordered and am gonna do another whole head app after useing my first kit for 1 whole head app and 3 touch ups.i went from blonde dye(bad)to strawberry blonde which is about the color my hair was when i was born and it turned really blonde by age 2-lol.my pic of my hair about 1 week after first app is on my channel as icon pic.i love it!!!i'm not a teenie bop anymore (lol) so bleach blonde dont look so hot with my skin.unnatural.
