  • That's really cool an' all... but they cost £10,000! (About $16,000 US) so would be quite an investment even for a well-funded starting company.

  • I have 6 shirt designs that a company will be be ordering 2,000 shirts from me. This and 2 other companies will be the only business I will be working with. I will come out with new designs of 6 per season. Do you think I should look for a less expensive machine for this amount of orders?

  • can it be cured under the heat of the sun?

  • what temperature does the heat transfer have to set at to cure the paint?

  • i bet the ink cost more than the machine, i can heat press 10 shirts in less time than it took to run that ink on that shirt....not a smart investment

  • We have many customers running a profitable business with these printers. It results in a much better "feel" on a garment than a heat transfer.

    But, to each his own....

  • @teachersscatf I was doing heat press for a while. It's only good for letters. Otherwise it's not the best quality. I've heard really good things about these brother printers and if you really think about the screen printing process doesn't go much faster then this so i can't be that bad of an investment. I know a guy who uses a different brand and his whole business runs on only these type of printers. He makes lots of money.

  • I love the way this printer prints. But i think people don't know that it is not cheap and you would have to work this printer 8 hours a day for many months just to get your money back. This is what kills it. the cost of the printer.

  • It is not expensive for an industrial grade machine. This uses industrial printheads and can not be compared to inexpensive printers.

It is made to run "all day, every day". Thats the idea of going into business..... use it every day. Otherwise, you shouldn't be in the business.

  • @Diver86jj Yes it is expensive period. Only shops with established clients should add this product. As a new start-up this is a very expensive purchase especially when the market is already over saturated with apparel decorators.

  • I am already sold on the digital garment printing. But how's the price looking?

  • how much is it?

  • so in order to print on black shirts you need a seperate machine?

  • not separate machine, but a whole other model. The GT-782. It has white ink printing capability and has two platens (print 2 shirts at same time)

  • @Diver86jj So i'm assuming that the GT 782 could also print white too as-well as blacks then? And any other color shirts?

  • @Diver86jj

Hi, so why not just buy the GT-782. Wouldn't it be good for black and white shirts?

    mc

  • can it print on black t shirt...?

  • Look at our video for the Brother GT-782 for DARK SHIRTS

  • no ,just the new model does

  • Too bad the shirts fade all most as fast as there printed! direct to garment bullshit!!

  • If the shirts faded, we wouldn't be able to sell ANY of these. You must be thinking of some hobby grade knock-off.

This is a commercial production machine and is NOT INTENDED FOR CONSUMERS ot NON-PROFESSIONALS.

  • I have had mine and my 4 crew for my lawn business same shirts 2 years now

sorry you feel like that maybe you just SUCK and what you are doing!!!

  • How is the quality?

  • Excellent and totally wash resistant. Commercial quality

  • can it print on shoes?

  • it is cool and seems easy to use but it costs like a brand a new car at $19,995 (PHP 960,000).

  • cool video

  • i would like to buy this shirt printer..is it available in Malaysia? how much will it cost me?

  • So true, spoken by yet "another" unhappy user. One of many HUNDREDS of unhappy people. The Brother GT-541 is worth every penny. It is a COMMERCIAL QUALITY machine.... not a converted desktop inkjet printer.

  • This is DIRECT TO GARMENT inkjet printing. The heat press is just to cure shirts if you don't have a good conveyor dryer.

  • Fast T-Jet does not print faster. To get the same high density image depth of color, you have to print the T-Jet 2 or 3 times = 2 or 3 times longer!

  • Are there any other printers that are cheap only? For small time business only?

  • Cheap Printers = cheap prints

If your in business.... do it the right way

  • where can I get this type of printers in Philippines? and how much would it cost in PHP?

  • whats the largest size image you can print on there & does this machine really cost 20k?

  • 14" x 16", yes $20k and worth every penny of it!

This is NOT a hobby printer, this is a commercial piece of production equipment. You'll never see this in Staples!

  • how much does this machine cost?

  • Your looking at about 20K for the machine.

  • Any Canadian distributors selling this machine ?

  • What about white letters on dark garments?

  • Technology is NOT ready for white ink printing... as of today.... but soon one of the mfgr's will finally come up with a sucessful dark shirt inkjet printer!

  • I'd have to disagree. The technology is there just not in the Brother. This is a great printer, but it will never print white ink.

The newest white inks are bright, don't clog the heads and durable. The problem is cost. But that is being solved as well. There are some new white inks about to be released that have a low cost but are just as bright and durable as what is out there.

  • I heard Brother is about to introduce a new printer.

What white ink do you speak of?

  • As far as I know, Brother is not releasing a new machine anytime soon and no where near ready for a printer with white ink. The ink I'm speaking of is made by DuPont and is used in various other machines on the market.

  • I am recently aware of the fact that Brother has a white printer now going through the wringer. They are working out the maintenance issues that all of the printers have today that are using white ink.

    They should have early 2009

  • Wow! How cool is that. You can print right on the shirt without a transfer.

Please contact me, I want to buy one for my storefront!!!!

  • could you set it up to print on people too, except the curing part, seriously!

  • cool,..........
