  • 1:43

    SUPA MAN

  • Thus is so sad ;,,,,,,(

  • Hogarth: thinking, "You are who you choose to be."

    The Iron Giant: "SUPERMAN."

If that doesn't make your heart ache inside of you, then you don't have one.

  • I cried before i started the video

  • i love this movie!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • This movie is alot like ET, but not in a rip off way.

  • Awesome, lets blow a nuke up 15 miles above Earth's surface so that the nuclear fall out covers half the world in toxic radiation.

  • @xXJEashXx

That was 1950s America for you.

  • lol that would have caused an emp wave that would take out half Americas electronics

  • Still a better love story than twilight.

  • Gave me goosebumps, that's how i know when i'm amazed at a subconscious level.

  • what i love is that Transformers Prime was inspired by this epic. one of my favorite movies ever!

  • @Brickman274 If only Bayformers had it in them to have that much heart.

  • @AspergianMind yeah... try looking up the Transformers Prime: One shall fall for me it reminded me of this, also that part in Duck Dodgers with Roboto, it was a funny parody.

  • Don't fucking cry...

  • That feel.. Who knows it?

  • @Markt2113 We all know that feel.

  • The Cold War, a time where we were worried about which side had the more destructive weapons, and the Giant,a machine that was obviously designed for destrctive purposeschooses not to be labled a gun and ended up saving the person he cared for the most and everyone else in the city, beautiful parallel and my favorite animated movie of all time.

  • "You are who you choose to be".

The best lifelesson anyone can ask for from a movie

  • "You stay, I go, no following." :(

  • .........................................

  • EPICNESS

  • Not even Chuck Norris can hold the tears to this.

  • @quepacho64 no he couldnt.

  • I have seen this movie exactly twice. Once, in 1999 when I was 10, and once, just now, at 23. When I was 10, I was like, "Oh, he asploded." Now...I'm sobbing. Sobbing.

  • @AniRemi I know right? I'm about the same age as you ( 20 now ) and i just remember watching this and nearly crying. What an amazing childhood we had, huh partner? :)

  • @WaterCrystalline Amen to that!

  • :'( I cry every time <3

  • Liberty Prime from fallout...

  • Fuc*k Mufasa! IRON GIANT!

  • "You are who you choose to be."

    "Superman..."

I love that. That for me is the best part of the movie.

  • @SuperMarkerComicBro Yeah, same here.

  • The Iron Giant could have been a perfect film if some of the kid-friendly comedy was cut and it ended on this scene. That said, as it stands it's one of the greatest, best-realized animated films ever created.

  • Isn't it amazing how the 2 top comments of the video are completely unrelated to it?

  • @Nerdkiller316 Dunno if it's the same one...but the 2nd to the top one is about how it makes him or her cry. Onions...yknow.

  • Man! Screw The death of Optimus Prime this is way sadder!

  • That's how i want to go.

  • One of my favorite movies in my childhood

  • If you didn't get choked up over this scene, there was something wrong with your childhood.

  • i cried right now

  • i'm pretty sure the Robot blasting off to the sky would kill everyone alone hahaha. Good thing the movie is a unrealistic cartoon lol.

  • im 15 years old and im a tough mofo but i still cry at the end of this movie

  • @redmaneast253 a tough mofo

    HAHAHAHAHAH OH GOD HAHAHHAHA

  • I haven't watched this movie since I was five but i remember his last words. Suupermaaan.....

  • I don't know why people hate 9gag. Its for fun and laughter.

  • Everyone who is debating over 9gag/Reddit GTFO. Its annoying, its like the HoN And LoL and DotA shit--'

Everyone has his own favors accept this.

  • Why YouTube? Why would you recommend this to me? Forgot how sad the ending of this movie was...

  • So I played "Now we are free" from the gladiator soundtrack while watching this.....

  • I Cri Evrytym!

  • Elitism. Elitism everywhere.

It doesn't matter what brought you here. All that matters is that we're all here.

  • @stephencious I find this to be a personal affront to both the memory of this movie and to everyone who has loved it over the years, such as myself, that an internet site caused you to watch this movie.

  • @klondikemonster actually i already watch this..waaay back before some crappy internet site has cause me to watch this..;) so o harm done mah friend.

  • @stephencious Okay then, sorry about that

  • @klondikemonster no harm done. :)

  • Damn ninjas throwing dust in my eye

  • You are what you choose to be...

  • 9gag

  • THIS IS SUCH A VISUAL RIPOFF OF THE FRENCH MOVIE "Le Roi et l'Oiseau".

  • and...everyone died of cancer

  • "You stay"

    "I go"

    And i cry

  • The bit that ALWAYS makes me well up with tears is when his eyes go from a determined expression to a serene acceptance and he just says "Superman". So moving!

  • does anyone notice that this has a simularity to How To Train Your Dragon?Ya know the friendship situation.

  • you know that he didnt die

  • ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES I HAVE EVER SEEN !!

  • Okay who put the damn onions in my room again

  • Do you see Optimus Prime's parts automatically reassembling themselves after his destruction? Fuck no. He lays down and takes it like a little bitch.

  • this is THE BEST animated motion picture to come out of hollywood in a long time. its too bad they didnt push it ONLY because it has a lot of chrstianity symbolism in it. we all know who owns hollywood so.....

  • @bradyischamp i dont,who?

  • @darckjo He's blaming the relatively poor marketing this movie had on a Jewish conspiracy. Which is pretty ridiculous, but then again the "blame it on the Jews" strategy has apparently worked pretty well for the last two thousand years.

  • @eviljoel oh ok thanks,i was gonna ask about the "Christianity symbolism" because i didnt remenber anything,i thought i didnt remenber because i was in a chatolic school back then so that stuff was normal and i was gonna watch it again to find them, anyway im gonna watch it again because i like it lol,but i dont really care about religion

  • @darckjo

lol are you being stupid on purpose? jews own both hollywood and the media, this is not debatable, period. this is a FACT.

you did not see the star of bethlehem in this movie in several scenes, really? are you blind?

there is so much more christian symbolism in this movie that i will not point out to dumb brainwashed people like you (yes you are dumb, because you were easily brainwashed). i wont waste my time on dumb brainwashed idiots like yourself. have a happy new year, dumbass.

  • @bradyischamp proofs or gtfo, simple as that,if ur unable to say "watch this part and this part" then u dont have any proof of what are u saying

  • @bradyischamp Now you're just being childish. Throwing a tantrum and calling someone "a dumbass" just because he asks you to back up your racist claims just makes it even harder for you to be taken serious. If you have so much evidence of "chrsianity" symbolism (protip: spellchecking is easy and free, and makes you look a lot more credible), why do you refuse to post them?

Also, "star of Bethlehem"? What? Why would a bright light in the sky automatically be the star of Bethlehem? I

  • @darckjo Some people just choose to see conspiracy in everything, that's all. And the best thing about conspiracies it that you can always blame the lack of evidence on a cover-up by the conspiracy, or accuse anyone who don't buy your claims of being brainwashed or even part of the conspiracy. Which makes it so hard to actually have a normal conversation with people like Bradyischamp, since they sense thread and race-wars in everything.

  • @eviljoel yeah thanks for the info

  • @bradyischamp they didn't push it because it was a children's film. They chose their audience, and they stuck to it. Can't be angry at them for that.

  • @bradyischamp What "Chrsianity symbolism" did it have, other than that the protagonist sacrificed himself (which has been a standard theme long before Jesus came around, anyway)? Seriously, I don't see it, and I don't get why you're blaming a supposed Jewish conspiracy for the fact that not enough people saw this awesome movie.

  • @eviljoel Actually, no one had ever made a sacrifice for all of humanity before Jesus. That's one of the reasons why Jesus has had such long-lived, and everlasting fame.

  • Only the endings of Return of the King, Toy Story 3 and this can make me tear up more than I have done in years.

  • Vin Diesel.

  • How in the hell can you dislike this? This is the most tear jerking ending i've ever seen. Best animated film of all time, in my opinion. Vin Diesel was phenomenal as Giant; i cry every time i watch this scene, and i always feel the tear roll down my cheek when Giant says, "Superman."

  • Don't they have uh what's it called? Something that intercepts missles? I know Russia has them, but common you're America! You've got to have them! Just shoot the missle up to that nuclear one and the giant doesn't have to die and everyone will live happily ever after!

  • i swear to god if he had been wearing his superman S when he flew up there....i would have died crying

  • I cried when he said superman.....

  • @PatoElDonaldo i always do when he says it

  • *tears

  • other than toy story 3, the ending made me cry. It's good to know that the giant survives in the end, but still has to repair himself, but thanks to that antenna thing, he won't have a problem.

  • I can't think of a more perfect ending to a fantastic family film. THis is some amazing music and animation. Not even Pixar has got to me on this kind of emotional level.

  • This gave me feels.

  • You know I remember when they played this movie all the damn time. To the point where it was annoying, now i didnt even remember it till nostalgia critic showed a clip

  • First movie I ever cried...and still do :(

  • chuck norris build it

  • iron giant and the green mile.........water leak

  • Goddamn onions...

  • Teared up man.

  • I LOVE MY CHILDHOOD T_T

  • "you are who you choose to be"

    "superman"

    epic!

  • God damn these allergy seasons, making my eyes watery. *Sniff*

    P.S. Dat MILF!

  • Liberty Prime

  • Shame that the U.S. Army will fire at anything at that moves.

  • @ShiZno360 Well the US Army didn't fire that missile. The Army prepared for the worst by prepping that missile, but ultimately stood down. That power-hungry, paranoid FBI agent gave the order in the end. This movie may contain elements of anti-gun and anti-nuclear, but it does not demonize the military in the end. Serves as a great reflection in bureacracy: "Soldiers don't start wars, politicians do." Would be a great movie to show a class how dangerous the nuclear 50s and 60s were.

  • i came from demacian comics LoooooL

  • Not only I did cry but also the first time I watched this movie I began to cry when the missile was launched cause I knew what would happen then :( Epic Movie!

  • People often compare this to Toy Story 3's ending. Well, lemme tell you something. Toy Story 3 had the advantage of three movies and a pretty big assortment of characters on it's side.

This movie had an hour and a half and made me cry more manly tears than any Pixar movie.

  • As much as this and Optimus Prime dying is sad, check out Johnny Sokko and the death of Giant Robot, which one is the saddest.

  • Now THATS what I call Iron Man. Fuck Hollywood.

  • This scene just ripped out my heart, tore it in half, threw it on the ground, jumped on it, shot at it, blended it, froze it and smashed it with a hammer. Now I have to explain to my partner why there is a whole box worth of Kleenexes in the bin.

  • haha seeing Vin Diesel playing the greatest game of chicken ever in "Fast Five" reminded me of this...

  • its how innocent and naive he is that gets me, he wants to be superman :(

  • suuuperman ÷]

  • everytime, i cried. still do. even in chem class.. O.o BUT I CANT HELP IT.

  • Ironically, the Iron Giant was more moral and humane than any human in the town
