I say this with no intended disrespect: the PE was by comparison a glorified streetcar line- although it WAS a massive network connecting southern California communities.
I believe that this particular train (the Tangerine Flyer) ran on the Illinois Terminal Railroad. However, these cars are similar to those used on other interurbans such as the PE.
Ok Since I have worked on the ACTUAL CARS I know for a fact that the Majority of the Trailers didnt have motors. THey Had poles for the Rare Backing movements since every main Terminus had a Baloon Turning track. the 2nd car #518 is a Trailer it has no controler and no motors. The bus Jumper is for Backing Movements using the 518's pole. The #277 has 1 trolley pole to pick up power, the 2nd pole is a sleet scraper. It has four very large motors being able to pull 4 to 5 trailers.
I'm not too sure about that. The second car has a pole on it but it's down. Look at it at :41. However I did not notice a bus connector between the two. I wonder if the rear car at least has a controller?
It's really great to see these cars running again.

You are correct. I was merely referring to a physical resemblance between these cars and some of the PE red cars.
