my fps is 25 per second, running really good! but the stream is a little bit to slowly! i have 16000. line, it really is fast enough. but the server gives me only a maximum of 12500 kbits- this is somthing too few! i must only a few seconds to cache!
my hardware is a intel core i7 920 @ 3,6ghz and my vga card is a ati radeon hd5870
i have 8gb ram, kingston hyper x, and my monitor is a eizo hd 2441w.
hdd a samsung spinpoint F3 and my os windows vista ultimate 64bit!
@GummyPlatypus it doesnt suck too bad, but he doesnt get that even 12.5mbps (theroetically 1.25mbps continueous) will not load a 4k vid without buffering. on the other hand, my 30mb Docsis 3 cable from comcast does it 2x the speed without buffering thanks to channel bonding. peaks up to 8mbps for a few seconds.
The original version of this vid gave my MBP drive a 24" display quite the workout but it worked for the most part. granted not 24/30fps...more like 18/20fps
Agree, the screen would have been more useful although it's pretty easy to follow. Can't see the option to add video to the Photo Web App so I guess that's to follow or manually grafted in (anyone know)? Looking forward to having a play.
Whoever directed this should think about the user experience. While the tutorial is great, the visual of showing Sal and Alex does nothing for us. Show what he's doing on the screen please.
@amadeopuzzo We actually had a lot of trouble with the screencapture. QuicktimeX is NOT designed for captures that large, evidently and we had to edit around it. I do agree there isn't enough screen there. This is really a test and we'll get better!
It won't play in 4K on my MBAir ghehe.... but hey! what's new? awesome that youtube supports 4K now! will try uploading some own red footage next week...
@willij, I'd like to know too, can't see the option to add video to the Photo Web App so I guess that's to follow or manually grafted in (anyone know)? Looking forward to having a play.
Dont people feel that the camera just focussed too much on the people instead of the desktop screen????? I mean, its crazy, they are trying to show some utility but most of the time we are watching their faces glow in amazement, rather than the utility itself ... ha!
Trying to play this at 4K is a great way to completely slow down my PC. On a small monitor, I see no reason to go beyond 480p.

If only companies like Citrix and Vmware would do video of this quality. Good job Alex I think you might be the first 4k podcast.

Alex, fix the key! The edges look like paper cut outs. Soften up the transition.

@sixtwo3 agreed. We had issues with the capture AND a new monitor test (that only kind of worked).

I imagine that "Sal" in Jack Kerouac's "On the Road" would have been a lot like Sal Soghoian.

@grkhetan Yep. This would be useful if we actually got to see the demo instead of the people running the demo.

Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz iMac plays it super smooth between 80-90% CPU usage, but never above that.

Amazing. The keying looks great, and shots of your desktop look as sharp as MY desktop. Over YouTube, no less.

My monitor is only 1080p but the 4k version still looks significantly better than the 1080p version.

I'm getting like .025 FPS, gotta bookmark this for when I get home on my quad core high res iMac.
kaplanfx 1 year ago
Holy crap that looks good!! The keying is just, well, perfect. But you will need to recreate your titles for 4K. They look a little pixelated. ;-)
