  • Where can i take n82 Gps file? Thx

  • is the gps on this phone faster then the n97

  • good job

    nice video

  • I have a N82 too and a Garmin Nuvi 760. The Nuvi 760 gets satelite fix much more faster than my N82. ... My Nuvi 760 takes about 2 minutes, and the N82 takes about 5.

I used to have a N95 (It got stolen) and it took like half an hour IF it took signal, most of times it didn't. Not reliable at all.

    nice video 5/5

  • In order for the Garmin Nuvi 610 to work faster, next time raise the "flap" at the back of the device. It is a form of antenna which helps it to receive the signal better.

  • hei,,drive carefully la.dont drink n drive..wakaka

  • right hand drive car, double decker bus, sky scrapers, civilized traffic and streets, where else? Hong Kong.

  • ew ok sorry then

  • singapore

  • dont get this its too big and after a while u get bored with it its just like the other nokias but with satnav in it

  • can someone tell me how much is nokia n82 in UK ??

  • Ha ha ha on garmin NEED OPEN ANTENNA

  • NOKIA ROCKS~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thanks for that cool mobile(cell) vs navi.

thought about buying a mobile with GPS or a "dedicated" solution. now my desicion is clear, also I'm still afraid of the N-Maps abo.

    Cheers!

  • I've an N80 and looking to upgrade. I'm looking at N82 & 5800. The N82 has a great camera, but does that outweigh the 5800's larger screen, higher resolution, QWERTY, longer battery life? Everyone is sprung on the N82 for its camera, but T9 & small screens seem rather down-market. Am I missing something?

  • Well, maybe the fact that N82 has more RAM, and a video CPU (besides the normal CPU) while 5800 only has one processor and less ram.

Nokia 5800's deal is just the big touch screen, nothing else. I have both and speak from experience.

  • very nice phone. Mine is arriving this saturday. Yay :) Suscribing!!!

  • man!! i want it so bad!!!=p

  • best phone ever

  • N82 the best phone ever!!!

  • Ha! Great video!

    GARMIN:

    "Turn right."

    N82:

    "TURN RIGHT!"

    :D ;D xD

  • this is really stupid...if u owned the garmin u would know that u need to open the back antenna to get a signal..thats y u never got any signal..it was always down in the video...

  • OK, this is great but need I remind you that voice navigation on any GPS enabled Nokia phone is not free? Nokia charges a fee for this service which does not make any sense to me because they don't really incur any costs from GPS usage.

  • GPS on the phone is just once in the whyle...is just when you dont have anything else,if you need a GPS buy a GPS not a phone with GPS...also who is so dum to pay 130$ 1 year subscribe...when a real GPS device is around 250 usd.

  • sorry but I dont belive this shit ,I have a n95 and a Garmin GPS...I know how is it...this is bullshit.

  • n95 and n82 are different phones so you'd get diferent fuckin results

  • N82 GPS is more more more better than N95 or n95 8gb.

  • WHERE DO I DOWNLOAD THE MAPS TO NOKIA N82???!!

sorry i just had to get someone's attention, i can't get the maps to work =(

  • i got n82 and garmin nuvi 250 both r good machines.. but n82 is more useful as it is with me all the time.. and i can use it anytime... gps in this phone is unbelievably good... fixes slightly faster then the garmin..

  • let me shed light on this situation

did i see that you are in Singapore?

if so then thats the problem asia has less GPS sats hanging over it plus cloudy cover is not good and its recommended that you have the GPS unit in the middle of the car window at the bottom of the middle i used to sell garmins they are much better then a nokia lol

  • So why is Nokia connecting find the signal beter than navigator? Cause Nokia has better GPS Module !

  • So? That's why N82 is better :p It has aGPS but garmin doesn't have it

  • good video

  • haha..

  • if i want to use the n82 gps with voice guidence do i need to have broadband/3g/gprs connection? can u plz explain to me in details how to use the gps with voice?

  • I was under the impression that standalone gps units did not have to take so much time to search for satellites as they had a powerful gps antenna.

  • wow...reach somewhere u've never been...haha...

  • Ok, I'm the guy who shot this video and I just want to clarify something.

Both GPS units were switched off at the same time prior to shooting this video: 48 hours.

Therefore, both devices had to deal with cold starts. Yes, the N82 had AGPS turned on. Data charge is not a concern for me as I have an unlimited mobile data plan, which in my country, is very reasonable at around US$27 per month.

The AGPS of the N82, or any AGPS equipped Nokia phone/GPS is crucial in fast and tenacious GPS fixes.

  • A GPS uses your 3g network to find the location whereas the other uses the satellite connection. therefore you will end up with a $50 bill if you keep on using the n82 this is coming from an owner of n82BLACK

  • you can turn off the a-gps and only use the internal gps

  • you can do that but then it will work with the same speed as the garmin

  • You got to somewhere you've never been to in your life. Wow. At least you've got GPS. :D So you're a Singaporean?

  • one reason why n82 gets faster fix compare to 610 is because n82 has A-GPS while 610 doesnt. with A-GPS help, you can get faster fix compare to non AGPS unit. Besides, if the 610 uses external antenna, i guess it will lock faster too.

  • Does anyone know if the GPS will work in the USA if i have t-mobile servic

  • yes. you don't even need a service for the gps. its in the phone itself ( it works like any standalone gps device)

  • Great video man, love the Nokia, but the Garmin lady really sounds sexy:) no wonder you got lost

  • definitely i'm gonna buy this phone!!!

  • did you get lost? what does your last sentence mean?

  • very good im very glad im getting this phone. this is exactly what im looking for a gps phone

  • it's an saab 9-3? nice car :) and nice phone. my HP NW6915 takes around 15 secs. like n82 it uses a-gps with uses list of satellites downloaded from the internet to get the actual position. that model of garmin isn't so that's why the result

  • wow.. GPS in N82 is quite good in locking satellites unlike my P3600 (Dopod D810) which could sometimes take more than 15 minutes in getting fix. sometimes i even reached my destination, get off the car and hasn't got any Satellite lock..

    nice review btw

  • does the n82 have t9 typing?

  • it should have it like all other phones, but i dont know coz i dont have a n82.

  • of course!

  • Nokia lady: Turn right

Garmin lady: speed limit is bla bla =PPPP

  • Where are you located? Does the GPS work in the United States? What other countries does the GPS work in?

  • there r maps of 100 countries in d phone so it has US also

  • does it have maps for Poland ???

  • there are maps for poland

  • OK, great :] and thanks for an answer :]

  • What about Malaysia? (It's in South-East Asia)

  • there are maps for Malaysia

  • it's a gps in a phone, it's not of the highest quality, your windscreen can stop it from working and plus it is VERY cloudy and raining, nokia says its very hard to get a connection watching your video that seems amazing that it is working so well, I can't wait to get this phone

  • when you are using GPS its better to start moving to get a faster connection to the satellites. GPS is a free service

  • im getting this phone 2moro and i was wondering do u have to pay to use the gps or is it free?

    please reply. thanks great vid

  • its a feature of the phone. the only thing is u may have to purchase additional features of the GPS like more maps, other voice commands, speed camera detecting feature etc...

  • the best navigator phone is nokia 6110

  • hey man...how much u buy this ph i sgpo...

    n how much per s in GPS...m nw u r using..

  • this guy's an ace man!. driving on the wrong side of the road in a reversed car setup in the rain, with 2 navis talking and on top of it filming everything. cheers!@

  • erm... hes not in your country. the road regulations. relax man. peace =D

  • hes not in your country, the road regulations are different. relax man. peace =D

  • the comparo was simply to show the n82's gps abilities

  • I'm sorry, I just don't understand the need for a comparison rather than simply a demonstration. What is being compared? They are two completely different devices.

  • they are simply showing that the n82 can replace ur basic nav system

  • be nice, he's learning :p

  • OP showed N82 w/o A-GPS, only using GPS.. Ok, so the thing is he probably had a warm GPS. No way is the GPS that fast. If you wait like 2 days without using it and try to get a new lock, it will take a good 3 minutes at least. Apples vs. Oranges please. Clearly the Garmin had to deal with a cold lock.

  • does the nokia n82 have smaller screen then nokia n73?

  • they have the same screen size(2.4").

  • okey!! thx

  • N82 voice navigation si free eh meh? Liao lu eh maps leh? Si free boh? Accurate boh ha ley roads?

  • Actually GPS is free. The reason why the phone GPs works so well is becos it has AGPS (assisted GPS). It makes use of cell tower positions in addition to satellite signals to help with positioning.

AGPS does incur some data cost, but it's minimal.

  • Simply Brilliant!!! Cant wait to get my hands on it though. I was wondering, It probably uses up alot of data charges, right. You'll probably need a data plan to get gps working without a huge bill.

  • AGPS use only under 20 kb data transfer when youre finfing the gps fix. It doesnt use it all the time.
