where exactly is the "holzer rinne"? looks like it cud be great fun!

It is near the Sass Pordoi lift, ski 500 - 1000 m following the route to Pordoi Scharte, Mittagstal, Val Lasties etc. At the point when you have to turn right: turn left. Holzer Rinne ends halfway into Val Lasties. Bring good gear with you and have fun

oh thanks a lot! lets hope for good snow this year! the sella group is my favourite area, especially the Mittagstal/Val Mesdi.

The holzer rinne seems to be steeper and about the same width as the first part of Val Mesdi. Is this correct?

Reconsidering my respons, if you are not experienced with using ropes etc. (because you need it), you better hire a guide. It is steeper than Val Mesdi, and you have to pass a stone ridge. We always are touring with Karl Unterkircher or Reinhard Senoner, two very good guides from Selva.
