Being secular automatically means that religion is a private matter. If you really wish to practice what you preach you should not involve your personal religion/beliefs in any way shape or form in your arguments.

The founder of humanist secularism in Islam is non other than Imam Ali himself. Pakistan is a Muslim country and we make from screw drivers to space launch vehicles to Ballistic missiles , which means such a system wont stop you from progressing.
Secularism is the way to go ? No ! its not neither is the current system in Islamic countries.
We need to come up with a new democratic system which can accommodate everything that we desire.
If the Islamic law has to be implemented then it is difficult but that doesn't mean that we should stop drawing it .

The founder of humanist secularism in Islam is non other than Imam Ali himself. That is why the khawarij (who are similar to most political islam movements today) fought imam Ali all throughout his reign. Ever sense we had cycles in our history: Periods of enlightenment (e.g. Andalucian Ummayads) followed by periods of darkness (Moravids, Order of Assasins in Alamut etc).
Imam Ali's ideas were ahead of their time. Everybody who fought him fought him in the name of religion including Mu3awiyah.

There are some worlds in both languages that just don't translate you have to use the other language...out of curiosity how in the world do you know how German's think? And even if the few you know do it doesn't mean they all do. My cousin's wife is puerto rican for years she thought in spanish and translated it to english before speaking PERFECT english but now they she's been around alot of english speakers for so long she doesn't have to thinking about the meaning anymore.

but secular isn't controversial, am i wrong? what has he given new definition to, but perhaps sometimes things need to be redefined in the mind of people who have been taught something is wrong. I grew up believing Islam is wrong, but when I met my husband he redefined the meaning of Islam in my mind. Giving old things a new definition is sometimes the way to go, especially when its the right definition and the wrong one has been heavily emphasized for far too long to unsuspecting recipients.

they took the picture of Colbert from another ad and in the other ad he was wearing a tie, and he was puzzled why they took out the tie, and then Colbert was looking at footage of the Iranian pres and he couldn't find him in a tie, he thought it was just one of those funny things that maybe iranians just dont like neckties, and just decided to bring it up. you have to admit, its much better than some things people say about him, right? just a little humor where most americans don't find it

Islam was given to an Arab! I would think long and hard before insulting the heritage of the Blessed Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) May Allah guide us all! If the Arabs have messed up somewhere at something its b/c of one simple fact--they are human. We all mess up! But by the Grace of Allah we are forgiven, we are given the chance to learn, prosper, love and enjoy happiness!

He put that Arabs mess up everything and they messed up the view of Islam, and I'm trying to say if they messed up anything ever, its not b/c they are stupid or unworthy, and when i say anything, i mean even forgetting to do something simple, i'm just trying to point out ALL people mess up, everyday, about everything, and they must have done A LOT right b/c the Qu'ran is still intact, its all its perfection, glory and honor, how can you ask more of a people than to keep God's Word perfect?!

I'm glad we agree, but like one sister put on another website, empires rise and fall but Islam stands true from beginning to end. You must apply Islam to your life, something that will face eternity with or without God depending on its application. D
