I volunteer with her there & right away I was shocked by the lack of general, or what I thought was general, knowledge. These kids were in the 8th gr. & couldn't remember times tables over their 3's. A 4th grader could barely read a Dr.Seuss book. I say that to say awareness & teaching is always needed.
