Paul is making a great point. He's making the point George Orwell was making in 1984, and everybody fucking missed the point. THe point of 1984 isn't that government or socialism will destroy freedom, but that by letting euphemism replace political speech, government can do anything simply by changing the name. So ministry of war becomes ministry of peace. freedom is slavery. demand plain straight answers from your leaders!

I love Paul Thorn's music and I respect the hell out of the man's honesty, too.

I'm sure someone may have said this already but I think as close as anyone gets to this idea of putting meaning behind their words and giving real answers is Ron Paul. I'm not saying I feel one way or the other about his politics because they are extreme but at least it's got some honesty to it like Paul's talking about. Still not good enough, though.

@am60mo I have never in my life heard a politician give a specific answer to a campaign. they go to great lengths to make general statements, which people may complete in their own heads into something quasi specific. politicians are trying to win by being as unspecific as possible so they can do whatever they think is necessary once elected. so pauls right you hear a guy say we need to make the war better. and you interpret that however you want. but its not specific.
