@noxspector The GSG MP5's suck..... They aren't reliable. I remember passing by a gun store to get my S&W MP15 5.56, and I found a full-auto .22 MP5 with H&K trademarks, in the rent section. They are kind of hard to find, but the funny thing is, there is no need for a .22 MP5. A 9mm still doesn't have a lot of recoil. Anyway, I just wrote that to let you know there is a .22 full auto MP5 out there. Happy shooting!

No permits or licenses are needed. Just paper work, and a $200 tax stamp for machine guns and destructive devices. I think the tax stamps for other NFA weapons are cheaper. Make sure they're legal in your state. Some states have additional regulations to NFA weapons, others do not.

I'm not quite sure if felons can have it. What crime is in question, and what state do you live in? That will help me try to find laws on it and try to interpret if he's eligible or not. If he goes through the process of trying to obtain one legally, they'll deny it if he can't have one. They do a background check I think.

But none of this has been proven, so he hasnt been charged with any of it, so its not on his record. Those are the only 2 things. If he hasn't been charged with any violent crimes, he should be fine. If he was still convicted of assault, even if the deadly weapon part is not applied, he might be ineligible. I'll pm you a link and some information I found. Make sure he does it right. Up to 250,000 dollars and 10 years in prison if he gets an NFA weapon illegally. Make sure he's approved before he gets the gun. A lawyer doesn't hurt either, especially if he sets up a trust.

Not true, The mp5 is a old design dating back to the 60's

the SD came sometime after that but well before the 1986 cutoff.

They cost ass loads of money, but then again even a lowly mac-10 will run ya 3500..

authentic mp5's will run ya almost 20k, not sure about the SD's surely those are ever rarer/more expensive.. you can get converted HK94's for less But even those go for about 12k last I knew.

The SD is ported enough that it reduces supersonic ammo dow to subsonic speeds, You are not supposed to fire subsonic ammo in them as the velocity might reduce enough to cause instability before it clears the end of the suppressor. I actually prefer my suppressed 9mm AR that uses Glock Mags. It uses subsonic 9mm 147gr ammo and is quieter. Check out the video.

Generally speaking 147gr 9mm = subsonic, Most have a hard time getting over 1000 fps on a good day.

Remember you can lesson the powder load to slow down a lighter bullet however go to light and you have malfunctions.

You need a certain amount of pressure to cycle the gun correctly.

it's generally better to use 147gr's with a full powder load then some bunny fart 115's to stay subsonic.

Besides 147gr's will have more energy at a given speed = more damage to your target.
