Objectively, tasers are better solutions for resisting subjects than pepper spray, batons, or fists and feet. They cause fewer and less serious injuries and are extremely effective at ending confrontations virtually instantaneously.
They are very, very rarely fatal. Safer than spray, batons, or fists.

He was ambushing Kerry with questions, he was asked to leave because it was deemed that he was making a public disturbance, and he refused to leave. They tried to escort him out firmly, but not under arrest, and he refused. They placed him under arrest and warned him that if he resisted them he would be tased six times.

We do have rights. ACCENT, as the forum organizer, has the right to set the rules of conduct, and throw anyone out who breaks them. The police have the right to arrest anyone refusing to leave because they are trespassing. And the rest of the forum attendees have the right to hear the speaker they came to hear.

The fact is that Meyer broke the forum rules, and was ejected for it. He refused to leave, and was removed by force. It was his choice to break the rules, his choice to refuse to leave, and his choice to resist.
The police did their jobs, and removed him with no injuries worse than a little soreness. And they did their jobs so well that despite national attention & video from every angle, there was no case to be made against them.

Objectively, tasers are better solutions for resisting subjects than pepper spray, batons, or fists and feet. They cause fewer and less serious injuries and are extremely effective at ending confrontations virtually instantaneously.
They are very, very rarely fatal. Safer than spray, batons, or fists.
