Canada is a great nation, the things they do are what keep the world go round. They keep to themselves, have LOTS of oil, but unfortunately I have heard horror stories about their health care from my girlfriend who is a Canadian. I've been there many times.

@RainbowHanryu canada's cities are much more different than just that. as a general rule, canada's roads are usually narrower, the buildings are usually shorter but much fatter, whereas the suburbs are usually in the closer to downtown vicinities in usa, most of the suburbs are actually found closer into the countryside.

We can make as much food as we want, or as much as the corporations want to make profit, while they go in Africa and hire workers to make cocoa for the western chocolate industry as they give the workers literally pennies. This is the problem.
Think of the big picture. If you wanted to feed everyone, you would have to get people to farm the food. The minute you do that, there's no more equality as the others who don't farm aren't equal to those who do. Not only that, you will need to distribute all the food.
This leaves people with the issue of being handed a bowl a day and if they want anything more, they can't have it. The people who grow the food won't be fed any more than the people who do nothing.
Well wait a minute, where did you get this logic that people who farm, arent equal to those who dont? Well why not, what makes people not equal? What makes any man better than any other man? No one is, we just are at different levels of awareness, based on our beliefs. And of course there needs to be distribution, no duh, we can work together to make sure everybody has what they need, look, if you cant even envision how that can happen, I suggest you really try hard, and imagine it.
You dont need unlimited resources to make sure everyone is taken care of, all you need is a heart. understood how economics works, its all profit gleening, and 80 percent of the world resources are consumed by 20 percent of the people, leaving the other 20 percent of the resources to be shared by the other 80 percent of the population. We have inequality, is what we have. We have greedy corporations out for profit, not out to help. We have an ignorant populace who cant see beyond their own nose.
And of course the human civilization is just a reflection of what goes on in our consciousness, the way to move forward is to evolve consciousness. We must move out of the whole darwinian dog eat dog, jungle society of survival. There are better ways to live, where we all share and are treated equal, and not trying to take advantage of each other. This is what happens when we forget spirituality and oneness, we become lost in division, and create worlds of imbalance and negativity.

@Bundashit I don't think our education in America is that shitty, the problem is that we only see American shows on TV, and our news hardly ever covers Canada because not many things of huge importance to us happen in Canada. Naturally we are not as exposed to the rest of the world as they are exposed to our culture and tv shows. It's not ignorance, we just live busy lives and because of the size and power of our country, we don't get a doze of foreign things like a European or Canadian.

Canada is a great nation, the things they do are what keep the world go round. They keep to themselves, have LOTS of oil, but unfortunately I have heard horror stories about their health care from my girlfriend who is a Canadian. I've been there many times.

@RainbowHanryu canada's cities are much more different than just that. as a general rule, canada's roads are usually narrower, the buildings are usually shorter but much fatter, whereas the suburbs are usually in the closer to downtown vicinities in usa, most of the suburbs are actually found closer into the countryside.

Winter Olympics has never been a strong point for America, but we did take home the most medals, beating Germany. We expect to do even better at London 2012. - Both the American and Canadian health care systems have problems and are nowhere near efficient.
- Canada is nothing like a communist state, nor is the US a true free market. Look up the definition if you need to.
- Life on either side of the border is nearly identical. Ask anyone who crosses the border on a regular basis.

It's not perfect but it is preferable to what our friends to the south who don't have a company health plan have to endure. Here is what will happen. Employers will see how the health care cost are rising. And dump the liability on the government for 8% in droves.
Millions of insurance company employees will be forced into unemployment.
Then the government will claim that they didn't expect that many people and raise taxes.

There will be fewer doctors so rationing of "care" will become necessary.

Actually I have a much higher sense of morality than others. It's your interpretation and generalizing of others that makes you think the world is a mean place where people have no love or caring or what not.
I separate my morality from my logistics so I can make an objective argument without being over passionate. Passion makes people see in hindsight. It causes conflict rather than solution.
If people have to "work" together. Then the problem is work because people are lazy and only preach.

We need people to speak up, I dont care, you can take this for whatever you want. The truth is, this is a mind game, and it will be won with the mind. We must have people to get in there, and "preach", this helps evolve consciousness. The outside world is just a reflection of who we are inside, if we are conflicted and divided and fearful and greedy inside, we will create a world of this. And as for you, well, it seems the way you choose to "contribute" is to try and bring people like me down.

So youre saying the answer is more government control. To get the greedy government to tell the greedy corporations to be nice. That has not worked, it never will work. Worse, the corporations and the government will work together to advance their interests, against yours. Is that not what fascism is, is that not exactly how Mussolini defined fascism? Its worse than you think, we dont even have a free enterprise market anymore, we have a fascist market controlled by elites who work against us.

I think your problem with elites is the fact you aren't a part of it. I'm not. That's everyone's problem. In Canada the highest position in office still has little influence over anything.
In this society, anyone can advanced if they work hard enough. Some have to work harder than others, but I can guarantee a homeless man can become rich. It all depends on where you start. Those who start big can drop down faster than those who start small.
We reward effort. We don't reward non-contributors.

I mean how can we run out of food, unless the grop seasons change and we cant grow anymore crops. We can make as much food as we need. I mean theres a reason fruits and such have seeds in them, its so they can be replanted and grown again. We can make as much food as we want, or as much as the corporations want to make profit, while they go in Africa and hire workers to make cocoa for the western chocolate industry as they give the workers literally pennies. This is the problem.

Think of the big picture. If you wanted to feed everyone, you would have to get people to farm the food. The minute you do that, there's no more equality as the others who don't farm aren't equal to those who do. Not only that, you will need to distribute all the food.
This leaves people with the issue of being handed a bowl a day and if they want anything more, they can't have it. The people who grow the food won't be fed any more than the people who do nothing.

Well wait a minute, where did you get this logic that people who farm, arent equal to those who dont? Well why not, what makes people not equal? What makes any man better than any other man? No one is, we just are at different levels of awareness, based on our beliefs. And of course there needs to be distribution, no duh, we can work together to make sure everybody has what they need, look, if you cant even envision how that can happen, I suggest you really try hard, and imagine it.

You dont need unlimited resources to make sure everyone is taken care of, all you need is a heart. understood how economics works, its all profit gleening, and 80 percent of the world resources are consumed by 20 percent of the people, leaving the other 20 percent of the resources to be shared by the other 80 percent of the population. We have inequality, is what we have. We have greedy corporations out for profit, not out to help. We have an ignorant populace who cant see beyond their own nose.

And of course the human civilization is just a reflection of what goes on in our consciousness, the way to move forward is to evolve consciousness. We must move out of the whole darwinian dog eat dog, jungle society of survival. There are better ways to live, where we all share and are treated equal, and not trying to take advantage of each other. This is what happens when we forget spirituality and oneness, we become lost in division, and create worlds of imbalance and negativity.

Unlike you, I realize how the world works but I don't let it ruin my life. You're weak and too stupid to be discussing this topic.
Nobody is born equal. Equality is given by society, or rather simulated. Your ideal is flawed in the fact it does not account for individuality. Your world is a world of pigs being fed by a faceless farmer with no purpose but to live and die. Ultimately that's how it is anyways, but at least here you get enough influence over your life to eat less shit than others.

Let's take a look at your world for a second:
- Total equality, total peace, and complete satisfaction
In order to achieve there, there's some conditions that must be met.
1. Unlimited resources, food, and water.
2. No society, everyone is an animal.
3. No individuality. Nobody is different, mentally or physically.
Yeah, I can totally see that working. Especially since there will be no workers to build houses, no management, no hierarchy.
Face it, there HAS to be superior people.

No, you are just one of those people who forget about spirituality, and are stuck in the animalistic primitive jungle, dog eat dog society, where being the most evolved means being the biggest baddest killer. The purpose of life is not to dominate. We are supposed to evolve out of the animalistic survival mode primal instinct mindset, and evolve into a civilization at peace and that actually takes care of its people, and who work together and are happy loving people, not negative brutes.

Imagine if we didnt live in a dog eat dog jungle society, which pits rich vs poor, black vs white, male vs female, democrat vs republican, Letterman or Leno. Imagine if we werent constantly competing to be top gun, and actually worked together to inform the people and evolve life on Earth! We are going at a snails pace, we can go at light speed if we want. But anyone who suggest this system needs to change..."socialist!" ugh...we can and will create a better world, no matter what.

Face it, most of humanity is weak and lazy. Preaching about peace and bullshit isn't going to do anything. Nazi Germany preached about 'good' and people followed. Everyone likes to think they're right, but what is right is relative.

I mean just imagine if every child was given exactly what they need to develop, free of profit gleening. Imagine what would happen if the basic materials that allow us to exist, were given freely, for all. Imagine what would happen if we were all prosperous, and abundant, and can then direct our energies into our heart desires, and our plans for the world. Mr. Moore, does a good job at selling his brand of socialism, and for all intensive purposes people should realize that nations that have a social conscious and dont allow half their population to die from bullet wounds from uncontrolled guns and remain untreated because going to the hospital would bankrupt their family, is worth the small troubles that arise from everyone being protected, not just the super elite who get bailed out.

1/4 of your income instead goes to taxes. I'd rather have that money myself and choose where it goes. Canada is great for poor people, but if you've got money, they just take it and give it to the poor.
I'd rather pay more out of my own pocket to get quality care right away than have to wait months for a freaking CT scan.
