    Product Description

    MTD Kingston

The MTD Kingston Saratoga bass is a modern re-imagining of a classic J bass, at a budget friendly price. It is Michael Tobias' innovations like the asymetical neck and Quick Release bridge which sets the Saratoga apart from the crowd. It is well balanced and has an asymmetical one-piece maple neck so it is incredibly ...

  • Wow... subwoofer???

  • Just wanted to say thanks for making this video. It helped me to buy this in the tobacco burst that I just got 2 days ago. I can't get over how beautiful it is in person, but what is even crazier is how low the action is with NO fret buzz or fret out at all. Sounds so good on my Acoustic stack. I am so happy and am a MTD4lifer!

  • What is that tune you play in the beginning?

  • @BassicsOfLife Really?????C'mon!

  • @runninonempiy Sorry... :p my brains are letting me down :p

  • @BassicsOfLife Stevie Wonder's Sir Duke solo/convention/thingy.

But I couldn't say it was nearly as good as the original (nor as a decent cover ; no offense to the player...).

  • I cant believe youre playing that kim !!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah !

  • Hell, I'm grooving on the Genz-Benz Shuttle 6/NEO2-10T setup! That's *THE* setup I'd like for a lightweight, small-yet-powerful rig.

  • I am in love.

  • I read it, thought it over and my answer is still the same. Try this. Own, play, listen, and then answer.

  • tight tone man, and Stevie would be happy to see the bassline of his piece comin out that neatly!

  • This was VERY high on my "Bass Upgrade" list but the 19mm string spacing took it out of contention - I need 18mm or tighter. Shame, as it truly is a killer bass for the money. I ended up with Spector ReBop DLX Flame Maple & Zebrawood-topped, modded them with Nordy Big Singles & Aguilar OBP-3s and can't imagine them (Zebrawood 4 & 5, Flame Maple 5 fretless & fretted with 5-string P & Dual Coil for the Fender American Deluxe Precision P/DC model tone) not being "My Tone" now.

  • Finally a bassist playing in these vids

  • Funny, this one sounds darker than the Rosewood one. Strings a bit dead?

  • @zumazmusic Possibly, see my comment on your other post... Peace!

  • @theperfectbass - I read your other response on the Rosewood MTD but I wasn't the one who made the comment on that one! I guess I was not the only one who noticed. :+)

  • @zumazmusic the darkness doasn´t depends on the fingerboard. it is more about a color in due the freq. spectrum. the rosewood got peaks in the high´s and the upper mid. the maple is more in the depth and something between upper mid und high... during slapactions you can hear it very good at pops at higher note on the g string... its more creamy on the maple. the rosewood is about clear, transparent...

  • @ChiapasZapata Maple is more clear, rosewood more smooth. It has to do with the fact the rosewood retains more oil in the wood which dampens the sound creating a more mellow tone. Maple will always be brighter than rosewood. The reason it seems to lend itself towards slap is because it has less mid frequencies than rosewood thus accentuating the highs and lows. I dont want to seem like I am saying you dont know what your talking about but what your saying is opposite of the truth.

  • @greyfoxzero just read, think and then answer....
