They did sometimes used to play the whole tune in the uk except without sponsors so this is an aussie broadcast...on a side note the theme tune they replaced this with was bloody awful
at one one point you could not walk down a manchester street at 5.35pm without hearing this theme tune coming out of peoples houses, this is when we had four channels........
I'm bout 90% sure this was from episode 1563 in 1991, the clue being baby robinson, this was from the episiode where Andrew Robinson was born to Paul & Christina Robinson.
Was this AUS broadcast? I don't remember ever seeing the entire tune played in the UK (although it was nearly 20 years ago, my memory might have faded a bit)
yeah i think you're right - i was saying compare this theme to the one of 1986 and the 1986 is quite different to this newer one brought out in 1988 (altho i used 1989 as a compatrison to 1986, if you see what i man lol)
The original, best and longest running version (1985-1992) of the Neighbours by Barry Crocker. Brings back found memories of watching Neighbours as a kid.
This was actually the second version that Barry sung. It was the first attempt at updating the theme before the major revamp of 1992. Compare thsi to say the 1989 theme and you'll hear the difference-its faster and more catchy.
I'm sure this version was brought in arund 1988ish. Harks back to the better days of when Jim, Helen, Madge, Harold, Mrs Mangel, Scott, Charlene, Jane, Mike, Daphne and Des were on the scene!
If Australian singers want 2 get famous in the music industry all they need 2 do is make a NEW cover version of this song and they would make millions (HAHA LOL)
I was born that year

When I watched Neighbours at this time as a kid, I don't remember seeing all those sponsorship adverts at the end of the credits.

Ah....memories! Hard to believe this was 20 years ago. I had such a crush on the Blakeney twins! This was by far the best version of the theme song.
