I bought this case right after I bought the phone (from the Apple store)and it is a piece of plastic crap. Save yourselves some money. Mine has scratched up, in fact broke at the thin junction between the volume control and ring/vibrate mode button after a few days. It has no absolutely titanium in it; on examining the broken piece it was a piece of brittle plastic. Apple store does not accept returns, need to go back to the manufacturer, who has only a 30 day return policy.

Yes! It starts with the edges then eventually spread. I don't know how but I'm sure I was being careful because I always place it on a soft surface.
