No it's a well developed and well understood technology. I forget what the fluid is, not water, but it carries a tremendous load of oxygen and works the same way air does, but as a fluid. This process was also shown in the Abyss movie. The other reason for the fluid is to cushion the physical body against the crushing forces of acceleration. This too is a well understood principle, the physics behind it worked out long ago.
for romi, the fantastic music written by morricone for this scene is called "Where". I've posted the entire scene with the original music in my channel
haven't you noticed? we humans are like viruses - mere parasites. We breed and multiply, we overpopulate and destroy our surroundings before migrating somewhere else? ironic isn't it?
what i believe the room he is in, it's to prepare him for intergalactic space flight. the water is more like a solution that will protect his cells placing him in a cryogenic state. u noticed how he could breath in the water. something like embryonic fluid. that's my guess.
Earth have a sickness it's called Humans!!!! 80% of people live only to work and gain money pfff i will not waste my life with this bullshit yeah i will work but not waste my time on something so trivial as money and stupid people i will go to alaska or island and will live there :)that is my dream
i totally agree with you! Money, capatilism, 'lol@security' are all modern human concepts with little no no core values. It's all an illusion. Be good, look after yourself, others and the planet, and fuck you to anything else that makes you feel bad for not conforming!!
Imagine how much you could learn from a race of aliens like that. Most of their technological concepts I wouldn't even begin to grasp but still knowing it was possible would be amazing.
They all saw a display of where the martians went after Mars died, and he realised there was nothing for him back on Earth so he went with them to their new planet in a different galaxy.
When I think about life on this planet....I think the same thing.....beam me up guys...this planet sucks! I'm sure earth used to be great ...back when we were living in harmony with it...not killing and wasting its resources.....Ive never owned a car...one simple reason...I refuse to pay for gas when there is free energy availible...yes....cars can run on water....but like proud slaves....we accept whats given to us...brings tears to my eyes.
I remember liking this song when "The science of things" came out. Most of my artsy friends kind of looked down on Bush because of their pop sensibilities (that's my guess anyway), but this song has a real sense of abstract progression. There's a great parallel line drawn between the noisy beginning, the quieter ending and the line that one might draw indicating the thrust of a spacecraft into lower gravity environments. When pop does things like this, it's at its best.
Wow, nice comment! I became instantly addicted to this song just by hearing the first 3 seconds of this track. The the mellow ending - I could listen to for days.
No offense laser nut, i don't care :)

-It could also be something symbolic instead of literally being water, it could stand for his transition into a new plane of reality.
-Like the fetus at the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey wasn't literally a baby fetus, but Dave's transition into a new form of life.

interesting never thought of it like that. can you believe I've never watched 2001 space odyssey?

I dont get it, so he runs away with the alien in some unexplainable romance? Why did he go? How do you explain this? This is freakin weird as hell.

You'd have to watch the movie to get it.
