Finally when I was directing football and basketball games we had a live stream that was watched nationally and when ESPN college would come they would pull and use our feed.

I am hip to studio equipment. ESPN, CNN, NBC and ABC affiliates among others used our press feed several times a year. Heck NPR tapped into our audio feeds just about everyday. I could hear my work over the airwaves every day dude. I don't doubt your college used non paid interns. Premiere Pro CS4 was not 64 bit on the PC side either my friend. We both used Premiere Pro CS4. PP CS5 is the first 64 bit version and it is 64 bit for both Mac and PC. I still do not have PP CS5 but I should be getting it soon.

Macward is hated by Mac owners the world over. The old Mac vs pc thing will never die will it. Why do people care so much?? I've used pc all my life and for video editing I was using Pinnacle 12. I liked the software for eas of use (just making home movies) but my "hotrod" hp laptop choked like a dog eating chicken. Got the job done but six hours made it an overnight project. GFs Mac pro has imovie 11 and it did the same 35min avchd HD movie to DVD in less then an hour. Easy to use as pinnacle.

I use Avid at school I think it is really nice. But I have never used Adobe Premiere I will have to try it.

Avid, Premiere and FCP will all work. It is personal choice for the most part although Adobe has great integration within all the programs of the CS 4 Master Collection.

Ok. Because the way are professor was talking is that if you have FCP and want to transfer to Avid you cant because the file extensions are different. And vis versa. If a program was able to go to all three that would be handy.

Adobe has great integration with all the progrmas of the CS4 master collection although Premiere can improt Avid and FCP project files. Avid nor FCP can import Premiere files nor can FCP and Avid share project files. CS5 is going to be huge. You can find info about the Mercury Playback Engine on the internet. It is amazing what the MBE can do.

I can not edit video with out an NTSC monitor on hand. I even out put to the NTSC monitor when editing website videos (not youtube videos though). I like to view my edits on the big screen (NTSC) monitor as opposed to an 1/8 or 1/4 size screen.
