  • I got an HSS and when you use the bridge pick up it can take someones fucking head off! I think it's a gem you can get some really good distortion out of it. I use it for alt and indy mostly. The middle single coil also sounds really smooth. Very rarely I use the neck pickup for the guitar though : /

  • I got an american special HSS and its cool. I can play some hendrix sounding stuff with the SC's and some crunchy lynard skynard sounding stuff with the HB

  • The beginning riff sounded kind of like John Frusciante's "Bedroom Lick" as they've named it on youtube, if you've ever seen that video. It's one of my all time favorite riffs. :)

  • i know this video was about the pick ups, but what was that little lick you were playing in the beginning i really like it

  • I can not stand the shrill sound of a bridge single coil with gain... It should be forbidden to use with distortion or overdrive, because of health and safety issues... Single coil at the bridge? Ok, you can only play clean, or get fined. But then again, if I dont like it, I shouldn't write here...

  • I with you bro. SSS all the way. what distortion pedal are you using?

  • I prefer HSS, a humbucker in the bridge add so much versatility especially if you play modern rock and grunge you really get that fat CRUNCH! Anyone looking for that classic twangy bright strat sound should go for the single coils. That's just my opinion.

  • What's the 1st song? :)) It's pretty awesome!

  • i like the humbucker!

  • @fdoninellir lol... is it another guitar or did you remove the humbucker and replace it with a single coil (i got a fat strat too and im sick of not being able to use the bridge pickup and wanted to change it)

  • did you change the pickups or was it another guitar?

  • Classic Fender purists will want to stick with the SSS, modern gen style players should go for the HSS. You still have that Fender sound with the HSS but also that nice crunch. I have the American Deluxe HSS in Oly White and absolutely love it. I can play anything that comes to mind from blues to metal and everything in between. The HSS is probably one of the most versatile guitars on the market. <3 Fender \m/

  • The HSS format is incredibly versatie, while the SSS limits you somewhat.

The Strat's single coil bridge pickup is waaay too bright and thin sounding for my tastes.

The Strat's best and most memorable sounds occur in positions 2 through 5, completely eclipsing the bridge pickup......NOTHING memorable about that!

    But....if that's what you like..........

  • @rich655 agree agree agree agree....

  • You are trading richness and beauty of tones you had at first for garish sound effects, kind of like choosing hype over substance.

  • @rubycodez Its always a matter of opinion. I don't like humbuckers in a strat. Despite the terrible quality of sound in teh vid, it sounded much better with SSS configuration.

  • @Moneyconspiracy, a surprise for me from your other video, the coils much better in that Japanese Squier - note content themselves not counting quality of recording, reverb, driving. by the way, I really enjoy your choice of music and playing, even as I complain about types of pickups!

  • @rubycodez humbuckers being hype and sss being substance. gotcha

  • 1:30 gotta be the worst sound ever!

  • @MultiPowerage I'm not gonna argue. WAAAY too much reverb. too late to fix now cos I sold this guitar.

  • @Moneyconspiracy You're smart dude

  • @MultiPowerage

That sounds sweet and fucking classy!

  • What is the first song? It sounds pretty cool ^^ Keep on playin'! \m/

  • I like hss better

  • why use effects on one and not other, confusing.

    >.<

  • if you really like single coil warm sounds just use the neck pickup the bridge is better for higher gain and thickening out your tone i persoannly think the hss is briliant in its desighn us still have that nice warm single coil ton in the neck and the middle and the bridge for higher gain settings

  • @crisDAwog if there's one thing I learned from this is that HSS isn't bad, but putting in the wrong pickup combination leads to a guitar that isn't very versatile. That Tex Mex humbucker was way too hot for the other 2 tex mex single coils.

  • dude nice sweet sounds ;-)

  • The real abomination is your tuning... Oooh yes

  • @GMusiyiwa wow dude. there is much worse. what a dick

  • aah! I see! :) Now for my actual comments, confusion out the way and all...that Piezo sounds like heaven :O but that hot noiseless sounds pretty dam good too! Definitely prefer that over the humbucker, not that i'm against humbuckers, just that a strat is far too majestic for a humbucker :D

  • You said it has a Piezo pickup in the bridge which you love, but you don't like the humbucker...but the humbucker is in the bridge...and you start off playing the humbucker in the bridge and tell us you love that pickup...

  • @thewelzee Thanks for pointing that out. The last knob is a volume control for the Piezo Pickup. I added some annotations to make it more visible. Does that Help?
