Is it me or was Qui-Gon Jinn the WEAKEST JEDI MASTER EVER!? He took forever to detect Anakin, cold not spot the evil Palpatine while close to him, could NOT defeat Darth Maul with the AID of Obi-Wan Kenobi on a two-on-one battle; then on a one-on-one battle got KILLED by Darth Maul (keep in mind that Maul was just Palpatine's apprentice). And Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon's apprentice, finally finishes Darth Maul off!!! WTF??? Yoda and Mace Windu are/were so much more powerful than Qui-Gon!!! I wonder why!?

@Maloperverso Well Mace was defeated (in a way) by Anakin and he was only a Jedi Knight at the time while Mace was a Jedi Master. Qui-Gon was far more intellegent than many think, he was the only one to become a force ghost in which he had taught Obi-Wan and Yoda. He was by far the most open minded Jedi of his time.

@historyfreakfroman No way! Qui Gon was almost equal to Mace in dueling skills, who was regarded as the Order's greatest duelist. So therefore, Qui Gon is one of the better duellists. The reason Maul killed him was because of Qui Gon getting tired from fighting Maul by himself for most of the duel

Scenes like this are pointless. We know Obi-Wan lives because he has to go on to meet Luke Skywalker. Anakin lives because he becomes Darth Vader. Yoda lives because he has to train Luke. Therefore, Dooku loses or dies.

There were several times at which he could have executed them outright, but just wasn't that bloodthirsty. Count Dooku was a Jedi Master in good standing before his frustrations with the Order led to him being one of the few Masters to ever formally leave it. Dooku thought he could gain a greater mastery of the Force by dabbling in Dark Side powers and without himself becoming a servant of evil. Obviously he was wrong, and in the end he pays for it with his life.
