  • its cool. but seriously...who punches from the side =.=

  • @0DemonKiller0 O-o alot of ppl .. most street fights start with hooks

  • Hmm thats just it isn't Tai Chi at all. It just looks like rather tense Kung Fu.

  • @Blackdog23a from what ive heard, the tai chi you normally see is just part of it, the combat version is not very well known so some people assume that tai chi is just a slow, boring thing done by elderly people

  • So this is chen style looks like a lot of fun and like it is very useful for combat thank you MartialartsJedi.

  • the poor guy just has a falling disease, give him a break !

no i'm just kidding, great video :)

  • I love the way that tai chi is in put on fights, its all about fluidity, i am training tai chi and makes me feel better in some ways!!!!

  • I understand that this is tai chi but i was wanting to know if it was chen, yang, sun ,or woo style Because in yang long form there is no side kick of any kind and here in the video he is using the sidekick, and the way he use's his elbow is different than in yang style.

  • Does anyone know what style this is ?

  • @dwarf2 I would hazard a guess at Chen.

  • old people tai chi= relaxation of the body to stay healthy combat taichi= it can be rough but only by using energy from the opponent not force

  • use your energy but no force!!! What are great thought and i love wushu and taekwondo

  • @farooqmaidani do you do itf or wtf? i do itf and am at blue belt red tag at mome

  • that leg reap was one of the weakest ive seen. whatever style that came from their descendants surely died off quick. I know the real deal and that leg reap must have been an accident..........im just saying

  • He is very effective, and his movements are accurete, but he doesn't look relaxed. It seem like a kungfu practitioner doing taiji applications. Good staff anyway :)

  • I'm on combat tai chi part 1

    And I'm learning e- nuff

For me it's worth the money

  • I agree... tai chi is so beautiful to watch fast or slow. It's so meditative when it's slow. I'd love to learn for health reasons, not combat.

  • I agree... tai chi is so beautiful to watch fast or slow. It's so meditative when it's slow. I'd love to learn for health reasons, not combat.

  • This man is a very high level of Tai Chi Chuan. Very beautiful martial art. The best martial art. The art of the arts. I am learning Tai Chi too but only for health, not for fight.

  • Intriquing

This master is cool to watch

  • it would be nice to be that good. i don't have time to train like that. but you can still pick up tricks here and there. his style is the one i want to have. aikido's nice but everyone has an aggressive side. i don't want it trained out. at least this dudes honest with his.

  • tai chi is pretty cool at full speed. well, and at slow speed too. it's a neat martial art to watch.

  • @graigsmith this is Tai Chi combat...not the same as the old people tai chi.

  • @graigsmith

tell a tai chi master to fight with a shaolin monk and you will see what is really speed :d

  • that man is guna ache in the morning

  • stunning...yay tai chi!

  • 1:27 was a good one

  • hey master wong, do you know a good place in hong kong that i can learn tai chi, wing chun or other arts

  • This shows the benefits of the external movements that you learn besides while trying to find internal power, which is not shown here. Internal power always contains a manipulation of your opponents feeling.

  • Real internal kungfu always starts with external parts. Besides the ancient original taichi was full of strength and punch like a jackhammer

  • awesome! :D

  • bollocks

  • most of the people in real life dont punch like that

  • I think technic is better than strength!

  • Of course that technic is better and more important that strength but speed is important too!!!

  • not sure how this is tai chi, and can not see any internal. Just seems he is using external force only??

  • You wouldn't be able to see whether or not internal force is being used, ie 'internal' force, it looks as though he is. Through very short movements he has good pushing energy. And his opponents strikes are bouncing of his blocks, a result of correct ailignment. You can't really tell if someone has internal force without feeling it for yourself but there are things to look for. Good fluid movement too. . . wait what are you talking about? That its fast right? learn more about tai chi bro

  • Thank you for your reply. However I am not talking about his speed. I understand tai chi in combat is fast. Please do not make presumptions. When I say I can not see any internal I mean all the moves he makes are what we in the the internal arts call banging force. That is only one aspect there is also the internal, which is lacking in Wong's movement.

  • throw a video up showing the difference

  • have a look at anything with Chen Man Ching on it.

  • pure internal is called "tofu tai chi" Tai chi is not all about being internal, its about combining internal and external. yin/yang.

  • hes a beast :D

  • I don't find Master Wang Stiff or forceful. He is quite fast and that indicates relaxation and internal power. Also Yang style is always "big proud and open"

  • The *very* low level you're critiquing is none other than Tai Chi Master Wong: one of the 10 greatest Tai Chi fighters in the Western world.

It's obvious you're passing criticism simply to draw attention to yourself and the "superior technique" it implies.

  • Who has Master Wong fought? Just out of interest.

  • just read this. where have you got your statistics from? who has he fought and who is his instructors? Seems to me he is very good at marketing, but that is all we can be sure of. Please provide some references for your statements of "fact".

  • there are lot of fraud

i'm not saying this one (or maybe i am )

there lot of fraud out there don't be trick

spend ur time and money wisely

  • You should study Tai Chi. You will be very surprised at how very effective it can be, especially if the assailant doesn't expect it!

You don't always have to go on the offensive with tai chi. Many moves involve using your opponents energy against them where you can step to the side and trip them as they go past or get both their arms crossed up and then push them away. There are many possibilities depending on your level of training. The most important thing is to ALWAYS keep your balance.

  • and may i know which tai chi is this?

    chan's? yang's? ng's?

  • this is not tai chi...it's shouldn't be so ugly in battle.

  • What do you mean Tai Chi shouldn't be so ugly in battle? What do think battle is? If someone is trying to hurt you the last thing you should be thinking about is appearances! I think you have missed the point here. Did you not notice how quickly you can repel an assailant? Tai Chi is a martial art that can be used for relaxation AND self defence. If someone attacks you, you must be able to defend yourself, especially these days. Please learn the combat side of Tai Chi. It may save your life.

  • Luckly I was born in China, and I know lots of people who play Tai Chi more than 10 years even some of them play Tai Chi for 40 years! I saw they played Tai Chi in battle, stronger but looks very softly. They have some pratice like the Master Wong did. the different is, there's "nothing" on Mr Wong's hands, arms, bodys and legs. and it's very hard for me to explain the "thing" is in English.

I learn Tai Chi form my friends. I know how powerful it is. I'm glad you answer my words.

    thank you.

  • By the way, can you tell me which Tai Chi does Master Wong learnt? thank you again.

    Happy new year.

  • I just love the music that goes with this video.

  • the reason being the skill required outweighs the technique, the technique being what he is showing u, the skill is fast reaction, timing and reflexs. if u hav skill any technique u apply is effective but the opposite would result in failing. in magic the technique is the trick while the skill is misdirection etc etc. practice the skill THEN the technique peace.

  • Wow that's wise I need to write a book called the wise book. I'm not joking. lol

  • Anyone knows what tai chi style is this?I want to practice this:)

  • chen style.

  • thanks!

  • Bravooooooooooooo

  • what a music! xD

  • Nice.

  • Eso es lo minimo que se puede hacer con taichi es el arte marcial mas completo que existe.

  • Ey si voy a una escuela de tai chi me enseñaran algo asi o mas bien algo como para señoras que van a solo relajarse.. etc..???

  • Man the guy on the right fully sucks.

  • Yeah, I'm guessing he's not Master Wong!

  • Very good fighting demostration. Of course, the Taichi CHUAN can not be demostrated in real combat because the body remanents and blood on the floor should be removed and cleaned after the combats. I loves Taichi CHUAN! Is my favorite martial art: Silk and Iron, yin and yang, opposites but equals!

  • pure bs

  • learn physics

  • yeah, youve got a point there. but what does computer engineer and master of science have to do with this...

  • he said "learn physics". Physics are some of the primary coursework for these degrees at my university. Especially for the quantum computing curriculum.

  • If you actually learned physics, then you will know about the conservation of momentum. Tai Chi works on this principle. Tai Chi's deadliness is in locking down the opponent by manipulating the force of the opponent, therefore leaving an opponent open to attack. Most Tai Chi instructors do not teach the martial aspect until the pupil has mastered the basic stances. But combative Tai Chi is probably one of the deadliest forms of martial arts known to man.

  • Yes, a non compliant or predictable opponent is required I heard of that statement b4 too and way TOO MUCH. But, a big question, how is DEMONSTRATION not done with predictable and compliant people for a striking art? Is it really possible to have 2 men fighting and none of them get hurt at the end?

  • what stats? how effectful a martial art is is not decided by the martial art itself but by the practitioner of that martial art. for example, master wong would have no problem fighting someone in the street cause he mastered so many martial arts one of them being wing chun which has been proven to be one of the most effective martial arts in the world but still a person who suck at it will not do well in a real fight.

  • @TheShaoLinDisciple91 lol wing chun is one of the most? ITS IS THE MOST EFFECTIVE system in street fighting. I dont know bout u man but for me wing chun is the BEST kung fu style ever made ,unlike most performing kung fu arts xD peace bro bye.

  • @MechPhantom It's the not the art, it's the artist.

  • @clcoc20s yea,its never the art,its always the person using it,after all u can hv the best teacher,10 years of training, train everyday, but in a fight u yourself will determine the victor. So yea true all MA is good.

  • @TheShaoLinDisciple91 I'm happy as hell to see an example of someone who's actually comprehensive when it comes to Martial Arts. You've made the most balanced comment I've ever read about Martial Arts compared to a straight forward "This style doesn't work" comment that people make in a split second...without a second thought even!

  • @TheShaoLinDisciple91 off course dude, Good Tai Chi (or other soft martial art) practicioner vs Bad Muay Thai practicioner means Tai Chi victorious.

  • Well, that is how most training for martial arts is. You are trained for certain counters, but the usefulness is not always possible. Of course, MMA fighters learn mostly jujutsu and muay thai. For most grappling martial arts, unpredictability and practice comes hand in hand. As for someone in the streets, Although you can't expect anything from them, they are not expecting your abilities either, and your physique.

  • i agree, MMA has basically become a style, a system that can be taught...so now they is nothing really mixed about it. it is its own form made for the octagon. MMA fighters are tough but alot of what they do (rolling around on the floor for starters) can get you killed in a street fight.

  • "pure bs". Then you're purely ignorant. And your statement "demonstration at full speed against someone who doesn't train with.." is the real bs. Doing a striking art with someone have the intention to strike back isn't a DEMONSTRATION. It is a real fight. Check your logic please, Mr Computer Engineer with a Master of Science.

  • And your name "Vale Tudo" remind of what another real bs is. People fighting with NO RULES in the BATTLE FIELD (modern or ancient) usually got killed/seriously injured. But today some sort of so-called "no rule" fights where people like to watch comfortably at home thru TV rarely have people seriously injured. Are these so-called "no rule" the real BS? I don't know.

  • Actually I fight and you do get injured on occasion. It's not battlefield fighting, it's sport fighting. And it's more realistic than you have ever fought in apparently.

  • fight in a ring with a referee or on the street? a huge difference between the two.

  • I've done both, and trust me. If you're good at what you do, you'll actually be more sore after a ring fight.

  • Probably dude, if you know what your doing you could take any street drunk or loudmouth punk down easy, which is the main application for street fighting. Whereas in a ring you're also fighting against someone who knows what they are doing.

  • There is no difference. The only thing that differientiates street from ring fighting is the fact that in the ring, you're not looking to actually kill one another. The same style can be used for both

  • more sore and more fucked up are two completely differnt things, being worn out from fighting means you fought hard. Where as being fucked up means the damage inflicted was greater.

  • Tai chi chuan is one of the most effective martial arts that can be learned. Some believe that it cannot be applied to a combat situation, and that its purely for health. This is a very wrong statement.

  • Actually it's a very correct statement.

  • Do some more research on it. Tai chi can be one of the most deadliest styles you can learn.

  • No it's not.

  • When someone says they cant see the softness and things of that nature, it just shows their lack of training. They are not idiots or nothing they just need to go back and train.

  • love the cool music! Starsky & Hutch????

  • LOL

  • Tai Chi, when done at full speed and power, looks EXACXTLY like this. I've seen it done before. This is quality ass-kicking, even for a demonstration.

  • This is a demonstration, dumbass.

  • this is taichi and yes taichi is not always smoth and soft as most people think

  • Interesting demonstration, although I am a little doubtful that it is Taichi. It seems to lack in some softness.

  • Now; if you still question the Martial effectiveness of Tai Chi? Contact Master Wong immeditaley. I'm sure noone has told him yet.

  • quality footage.

  • good very good tai chi!

  • Holy crap I thought master wong only taught wing chun.. he's awesome..
