  • I would feel bad for them

If everyone at this store did not suck at customer service. But I do wish they would give y'all more hours by staying open past 8. This store sucks. Rude employees and bad hours. I would have fires all of you. Right to work state. Goodbye.

  • Some of the comments on here are hella creepy. "Just get another job" or "stop complaining" is usually stuff I hear from uptight forty-somethings with cushy jobs. Honestly, do folks really think that just getting a new job is at all realistic right now? As if people should just sit be happy and thankful while their bosses treat them like scum and pay them dirt low wages.

  • You guys are fucking idiots. I am more stupid for watching this.

  • store for over 3 years and have never ACTUALLY had to use the damn thing. Go buy your own freaking band-aids. Also, "no secure or guaranteed hours..." You are a damn part-time worker. Nowhere in your initial employee contract does it say you will be guaranteed the same hours. Want more hours? Call around to other stores. I know plenty of partners who do it. "Corruption of Capitalism..." Good god. Are you just spouting off terminology that you think sounds good? Look up the definition...

  • I might be wrong about the 6 month review. It might be quarterly. Don't remember. Also... the girl who has been with the company for 4 months... Really? Get off the screen. You are not even close to qualified to be taking a stand against the company or your store manager. You agreed to work for a nickel above minimum wage only 4 short months ago. So ungrateful. Secondly... a first aid kit? That's one of the complaints? I understand it's a violation, but get real. I've worked in the same...

  • (cont) we are given a a review every six months, which gives you the opportunity to get up to a 60 or 70 cent raise each time. Work your ass off, do what you're supposed to do, and your hard work will be noticed. Not to mention the fact that we make hourly tips every week, which will bump your "wage" up at least an extra dollar. I'd be willing to guarantee that this store makes $1.50 - $2.50/hr in tips per week for each of it's workers. It is a pretty busy location. I'm appalled at this video

  • @LuckyMikkyG. Lets talk about the reviews every six months. Ever had a manager that didn't like you, despite whether you worked hard or not. Probably not, you seem like a kiss ass. Well, when they don't like you you don't get a good or even decent raise, whether what they say is true or not. Now, just because you are happy in whatever shithole Starbucks you are still at doesn't mean that your situation is the normal. So let this girls try and take on the man. Bravo to them.

  • @revistbanana You strike me as the type to talk just to hear your own voice. You obviously have not a damn clue about anything. I seem like a kiss ass? If you knew anything about me you'd eat your words so fast you'd choke on them. I do what I'm required to do. My district manager has tried to get me fired for personal reasons. But guess what? I'm a damn good employee and firing me was not really possible.

  • @revistbanana This store??? ooh I have heard stories about this store. I know baristas who have worked or covered shifts there, and they have no intention of making that mistake again. I have heard the work ethic and general attitude is awful. Hence, the bitching and moaning about the "horrible work conditions" in this video. If you don't like your job, get a new one. Plain and simple. Quit fucking it up for the rest of us.

  • THANK YOU ANAWHITAKER!!! That's exactly what I am trying to say. These spoiled brats are bitching about making a nickel above mininum wage... But correct me if I'm wrong... when you take a job offer, are you not AGREEING TO THE TERMS OF THE EMPLOYER??? The answer, for all you lame brains who have forgotten you place in the workforce, is YES. These baristas were not tricked into taking this job at a higher pay rate. They, like all of us, agreed to start at a set wage. For god's sake (cont)

  • Clearly these kids are in a different state of mind. You do know that you dont have to work for starbucks Right? I was laid off for 13 months and I couldn't even get a part time job. In Texas the unemployment rate is 8.3% and not getting better. You need to appreciate what you have. We always take for granted what we have until it is ripped from you. This is an act of being spoiled and you should thank your lucky stars that you even have a job. You could be panhandling!! So suck it up...

  • May be if you were in a union, you'd still have your job.

  • Wow!!

  • Wow!!!

  • how can i be a bigot to myself? and ceos undergo a severe amount of more stress than i do and they worked to get to where they are at. i don't want a union. they are pissed about a small paycheck when they don't realize a union will make it even SMALLER. there are ways around everything, like picking up shifts at another store... and for the record, we do make above minimum wage and we also get benefits where others don't at all on top of tips. we've actually got it pretty damn good.

  • Comment removed

  • Do also think that CEOs undergo enough stress to make them buy a 30 million dollar private plane during the companies greatest amount of lay-offs? anawhitaker, wanna work for a company that probably stole your paycheck to pay for a luxury airplane seat?

  • All you liberal hippie schmucks are fucking morons. I work for Starbucks also. It's a good job to get you by. You don't have to take the stresses of work home with you as you do working at a "real job." If you don't like the wages, the "lack of respect" you receive in the workplace, or the labor hours you are scheduled for, then you leave the store or the company. Go work for Art Six or Jupiter House in Denton. And while you're at it, grow a beard and stop bathing. You'll fit in perfectly.

  • But they didn't want to, that was a hard blow for me. This just made it clear for me how crucial solidarity is to win.

All my solidarity to you Starbucks Workers, and yours Union.

  • Great to see the wobblies.

I know how hard it is to stand up to your boss/manager, it takes guts, especially if you don't have the support of your fellow works. I have been in a similar situation some years ago with a manger that treated us a shit, and we all knew it was wrong, but we didn't do anything. That was on till I couldn't take it any more and started yelling at the bastard, and it did work. But my fellow workers wasn't still being treated as shit, I tried to make them stand up to him.

  • not throw what basically amounts to a temper tantrum.

  • the "proper chain of command" is now fired and what do you think for? The improper treatment of good honest hard workers and for probably being one of the world's most awful managers. Still think that they are lazy now that they are your coworkers. I am sure the those darling girls would enjoy knowing that you judged them a month and half before you even knew them. I have seen you work and temper tantrums are more your style. Stop being so cynical al the time.

  • I am of the baristas why serve people and I know I don't have even remotely close to the stress level a CEO makes. Our economy is based on a ladder system and you don't just wake up one day and advance ten rungs on the ladder while skipping the others. I do make over minimum wage plus tips. What other companies offer their part time employees ANY health benefits at all? I prefer to not bite the hand that feeds me. If I want things to change then I can go through the proper chain of command &

  • this entire video is filled with nothing but whining, spoiled and probably lazy brats. benefits are a privilege for a part time employee, not a right. if you want better pay, get a better job. the entire time you were making this video you could have been working, gaining hours at another store. dead end jobs don't support a lucrative lifestyle and unless you attempt to move up that's what starbucks is. the money you spent on signs could have gone to rent. you're just useless noise.

  • "unions destroy our economy"? Really? Obviously you know nothing about U.S. Labor history, if you did, you would know that all of our employee rights (such as the 8 hr day, minimum wage, and anti-child labor laws) are a direct result of workers organizing in unions. Sounds like to me that the Sbux Corp. has hired an online pinkerton.

  • so, you believe that the teacher's union is doing the right thing by putting teachers ,that can't be allowed in a classroom, in a room all day paying the. It takes forever to fire teachers we know are bad teachers,or teachers that have been suspected of child endangerment or other charges, etc. because of the teachers union. That is a good thing right? obviously you are the pinkerton if you think this behavior is acceptable and you obviously do not have children in public school. get a ckue

  • Takes a lot of balls. Thumbs up girls.

    Love,

    Veronica

  • Liberte you sexy beast... you tell em

  • no union no latte!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is great! awesome video! you all rock some much!

  • Really a Starbucks Union? You all fail.

  • I am so so proud of all of the workers in FW for standing up for

themselves and their fellow workers. You give me faith in humanity. ---Ted SWU-IWW-Twin Cities
