the old song name does make sense, though =P Davis Ruffin was once the lead singer of The Temptations and part way through his career with The Temptations, he tried to get them to change the name to "David Ruffin and the Temptations' and ended up getting kicked out of the band for being a jerk (not because of the song title change, he skipped out on a show or something) and the song is about how people are in the music business for all the wrong reasons (Such as David Ruffin)
