I've had sound issues and some desync problems with Snes9x 1.52 and major desync problems with Snes9x 1.51. I have probably lost about 10 hours of my life this month due to Snes9x. ZSnes has video/audio desync but I'll probably settle with that as long as the replayed movie doesn't go out of sync. >_>
An easy way (sorta) to record with sound and without sync problems is to first choose "Record Movie", which records to it's own file type (.smv), then replay that, and select "Record to AVI" while the .smv file is playing.
i always thought it was frame-generated. i mean, look at megaman TAS emulated recordings that always get the same item. i'm pretty sure rockman & forte works the same way?
I lied? I had no de-sync problems at all using the version that I told you about (which is the version that I am using to record SNES videos). I even recorded a 2-hour video with it and it was still in sync throughout the entire length.
I sure it's only the TAS version of SNES9X that remove both the muteness and desync problems, since mine doesn't have either. Was also nice to see someone not do the usual order and make the entire game look like a joke too.

I've tried this, but the RNG values don't stay consistent, so the recorded gameplay can be drastically different each time.

I love the comments that get left on these. Reminds me a bit of NicoNico, except I can actually read the commentary.

Yeah, he sure did lie. The rerecording version removes the desync problems.
