  • Whoever is timing you needs to be assassinated.. My times 1.82 consistent and yours is 1.93 at best

  • yeah same here. 2.1 and 1.9's and im stuck 1t 1.97. i cant seem to get under that. my exchage is kinda wack at the moment

  • Garbage indeed

  • Besides throwing how could I get my arm stronger

  • habibimaya

    how you get that fast?!

  • oh yeh i can get it there without it bouncing

  • thats cool but im in 8th grade and can throw a 2.1 to second

  • this kid was a 2.02 the coach does not know how to time a throwdown.... its pop of cathers glove to the pop of the shortstop's glove

  • garbage

  • i'm 2.1 as a sophomore is that good? and i notice i throw alot that bounce to the target, any ideas on some mechanical flaws?

  • @LongGone141 stay low. imagine a you are being shot out of a cannon or imagine a ceiling you have to stay under. this will help your quickness. also, to strengthen your arm big time. after warming up, stand 90 feet away and throw 20 throws at 99% for 3 days. take a day off. then 95 feet, 20 throws, 3 days, day off. then 100', 20 throws, 3 days, day off, before long, you will be throwing 200' on that same line. i caught for miss state university in 90s.throwing was my strength. 1.79 time.

  • If only he had as good an arm as his transfer

  • this is embarrasing to watch

  • ID LIKE TO SEE YOU HIT 90+ MPH GASBALLS WITH THE GAY LITTLE SHIMMY YOU DO WITH UR STRIDE FOOT B4 EVERY SWING LOL

  • This guy isn't that good.....

  • He really did throw a 1.82 on that first one, but the one where the scout held up a 1.83 was bullshit.

  • Idk about you guys but I got two and two one.

  • your a senior? Lmao

  • I'm a 16 year old varsity catcher and I throw round a 2.0 to second with really good accuracy. Id like for you guys to watch and give me some constructive criticism and advice.

  • Good quick exchange and footwork. At the whichita state catchers camp they stressed the fact that you throw people out with quick hands an quick feet and all the arm does is guide the ball.

  • im going into my sophmore year in high school and im consistently at 1.85/1.90... but my best ever is 1.79 is this good for my age?

  • @joefreiday That's really bad

  • Comment removed

  • 2.1 average pop time

  • I throw a 2.2 to 2.3 everytime on the bag as an 8th grader

  • @cyclonesfullscale as soon as u go 2 90s itll go up ten tenths of a second unless u get a stronger arm

  • @jacob12721 am at 90ft

  • @cyclonesfullscale oh then... keep working

  • i just turned 15, im gonna be a sophmore when school starts, i throw down 2.2 consistent nd occasionally get 2.1, is that good for my age?

  • I cosistantly got 2.0 to 2.1. Very good but not 1.81 as advertised. I got 2.09 on the throw that was supposedly 1.81. Not hating, but not 1.81 either.

  • the pop time means nothing if you cant throw the ball accurately

  • is it good to have 2.3 as a freshman?

  • ha I got around 2.0 also. I would love to hear the explanation of what 100% MLB potential is.

  • no arm! im a seventh grader and ma arm beter tht and tht aint no 1.81 tht like 8.2

  • @101studluv thats bullshit

  • no arm...... at all

  • i see alot of discomposure on ur throw nice arm and pop up :D

  • I got 4 1.9's up to 2.1 and a couple in between.

  • lol nice job with the stop watch your only about a whole second fast!!

  • hahaha maybe one was a 1.8 but the rest are 2.30 average

  • not 1.8 not a chance

  • and you drop your hands a boatload.

  • wtf, the ball is WAY too high to have a pop time of 1.8 this guys crazy

  • is this college or high school?

  • well even if it is 1.81 which i did not get for any throws..you still need to take off a few tenths because u your body wouldn't be facing first base in a game. so get in your normal squat position (facing the pitcher) and then repost.

  • @abradley211 That's not true at all. Sure, squaring off your body off is what I consider proper, but it has VERY little effect on your throw down. Infact, doing that will influence you to sweep your hands and your feet go off to the side. The only large effect on your poptime's difference from practice like this and in-game, is the batter. You can't cheat.

  • @noahmcdx actually it is true...when you have to take smaller steps it will take time off of your throw. Smaller steps are made by when your already facing halfway towards the way you want to be going.

  • @abradley211 No, that doesn't make sense. Smaller steps=slimmer base, so a weaker throw. And also, being off-centered doesn't make you take smaller steps. That doesn't even make sense. All it does is make you sweep your hands and have bad footwork. Your right hip has to move first. It can't move first when your body is off-centered, and if it doesn't move first, you can't keep your chest up, and your head will be ahead of your feet.

  • Not even close to 1.82, more like 2.1

  • the difference between his best and worst is almost ridiculous

    and if anyone's question the timing....It's GLOVE-GLOVE.

  • the difference between his best and worst is almost ridiculous

  • he's quick. His arm strenght isn't as good. but quick when he's on.

  • The shortstop is better and he's barely in the video.

  • yea yall are not timing it right its when it touches his gloves and hits the second basemens glove :( sry

  • got solid movement to release and nice soft hands to go w it. you explode forward well, though you lose some momentum as you release, which then weakens the throw and makes you wild...maybe try to conserve some of the explosion until you're about to actually throw. also long toss, long toss :)

  • I imagine he's thinking (not really, but my guess this is how someone explained it to him) that he's trying to replace his left foot with his right because he gets his feet out to the left of the plate. This results in the upper body leaning over the plate a bit (it looks better in the 2nd angle) and the follow through falling to his right. I feel like if his feet got under him more, more straight towards 2nd, you could see a big improvement in arm strength

  • @signthebread

look at the way he pops the ball to 1st on the bunts, then compare that to the field angle on the throws where the ball hangs up or he bounces it to 2nd (body even less upright on that one). He's losing a lot of arm strength in his release. Please don't take it the wrong way, just trying to be constructive. There's always room for improvement.

  • Nice throws man. My take is that pop times are really splitting hairs. What's the difference between a 1.81 and a 2.01 anyways? 2 tenths of a second! Do you realize how little time that is and how easily stopwatch errors can make that difference? Look at his arm strength and mechanics.

He's got a pretty quick release but I feel like he could throw at least a bit harder if he got hit feet under him just a tad more.

  • so have you gotten anyone to pick you up yet?

  • try 2.1, only .3 off. nice try kiddo

  • yah not even close to 1.81

  • @541994000 2.3 isnt bad for a freshman in hs. just keep doing long toss and working on quick feet and hands. Anything under 2.0 now a days is considered impressive for a hs player

  • @wizwalking i do 2.3 and i m 14 im catcher in panama

  • @541994000 2.3 isnt bad for a freshman in hs. just keep doing long toss and working on quick feet and hands. Anything under 2.0 now a days is considered impressive for a hs player

  • @541994000 i got 1.93

  • Your hitting the clouds on your throws down there bud..... U might have a 1.81 back to the pitcher...

  • Jacob Felts from Orangefield Texas. is going to the University of Texas and was clocked at 1.72..

  • i am a catcher myself and applaud other catchers when in order, but there is ABSOLUTELY no way that this kid is popping a 1.81. Who ever was timing this guy was boosting harrrrrdcore

  • just do it yourself bro.. go to ONLINE STOPWATCH on google.. click the first link.. put your video up next to the stopwatch. start it when the ball HITS YOUR GLOVE and stop it when it HITS THE FIELDERS GLOVE. that 1.83 is over 2

  • i dont think its a 1.8 but it still looks good for hs bout 2.0

  • I got the same, your best was just barely under 2.0 you were consistently around 2.1

  • You're a really good ball player. I hope you end up going Pro.

  • its sad u have to fake ur pop times, anyone with any experience without a stopwatch can see that not even a single throw was a shot.

  • its deffinitely not a 1.8 pop.

  • i have professional exp. at pop times, i was clocking his, lowest i got, was a 1.92. I thought it was funny when you said, 1.81 when that one was actually 2.11! He's not that good for a senior. I have been scouting, this kid Jordyn Cruz, 5' 10" 185lbs catcher. He is a Freshman at Vero Beach High School, Florida. This kid is throwing down consitant 1.9's and hits the ball for power. Can't wait to see when he gets older. 100% MLB potential.

  • @baseballnovas

my pop times have been recorded my college and professional scouts. the person putting the stopwatch in front of the camera was a scout. im sorry your stop watch isnt working right

  • @wizwalking ya it was.. those arent 1.8s

  • @wizwalking if your so damn good where are you playing at now?? jw...

  • @wizwalking yea u def hit 1.89

  • @wizwalking just because the stopwatch says scout on it doesn't mean he is a scout..haha. but 1.92 is good..stick with that. not close to 1.81. that is better than Yadier Molina. Quit bullshitting.

  • @wizwalking ya my stopwatch must be broken too then

  • @wizwalking ya my stopwatch must be broken too then

  • @baseballnovas

    SALTED

  • @baseballnovas Why dont you stop putting kids down. I dont think he gives a shit about someone else, and how good they are. He is trying to do the best he can to get into college or get drafted somewhere. Stop being an ass.

  • nice. how did you manage to get on to the baseball grounds?

  • I haven't really had any offers yet. I learned that its really all about exposure and im just starting to get myself out there with the colleges.

  • @wizwalking n i kno wut u mean about that its hard and costs a lot of money to get yourself noticed

  • @wizwalking

I was in that postion. I got mine into the 1.8's but I didn't have time to get it dialed 100% all the time. from what I see, it looks like you're having trouble getttin planted at the exact time you need to be. That's why you'r not completely connected on a lot of those throw downs. body work and the arm coming through are exactly. good separtation..but not always connected on every attempt. (if that makes any sense..)

  • youve got some quick feet..have u gotten any offers?
