My late husband, Bob died from Adenocarcinoma 9/2010 . There was a large mass in on of his x-rays from kidney stones back in 5/2010. He had had no problems eating and only had some back pain, but now we know he Barretts syndrome can cause this cancer. He initially weighed over 300 lbs, but at diagnosis had a mass the size of a naval orange and passed away after only 4 months. He didn't smoke cigarettes and ocassionally would have a drink or 2.
Lee was very kind and helpful to me in '07. I was a passionate student at Saybrook on fire to help transform medicine, and called him out of the blue. He offered to have lunch with me, but ended up being too busy. He even offered to share my resume with his friends after I graduated. I was touched with his generosity. While I chose to not go the route of working in an academic hospital setting or in the medical field, I will never forget how kind he was to me.
I was fortunate enough to know Lee personally and take his workshop "Healing the Healer Within". What an amazing person and journey. I highly recommend his book, Dr. Jacqueline Chan
Picked this up from the library yesterday; yet another book that found me. I believe there are No Accidents. I can't wait to crack the spine and absorb your perspective on life on the journey to - the other side.
In "Eat Every Sandwich," Lee reminds us of the great gift of life in being connected with those we love, so I think he'd approve of my intention (Spoiler alert) to give my loved ones Lee's book as a holiday gift this year.
Thanks to Lee and his family for generously giving precious last days of his life to create this book so we can benefit from Lee's wisdom and deep love of life to live more fully and well ourselves.
Lee has always been inspirational, even as a medical student. Now there is proof that God loves his soul to call him back so soon. His life and his death will inspire me even more. I can't wait to read the book. This is a message to remind everyone to stay connected with friends, family and all the people you love. Thank you Lee and Kathy. Thank you.
What a wonderful person. Such a refreshing outlook he has always had about life and enjoying every moment of it. Always a smile and that great laugh I will alway have in my memory of him. I have been lucky to have known this fine man. I will miss my friend.
Lee embodied the keys of being a healing helping physician. I first met him at an Ornish retreat. He was clearly a memorable person. He helped me heal from a heart attack some 16 years ago.
Very powerful and unselfish message from this amazing man......I am certain that his book will help many people who are on their final journey and give them strength and the tools to deal with their journeys....Bless you Lee.... thanks for sharing your experiences and advice to others
I first met Lee in 2008. I remember hearing him lecture with tears running down my face - tears of joy that this was the doctor I had always wanted to be. I am unashamed to have tears at his passing but gratitude, so much gratitude, that we were gifted with knowing him. In his gentle way he has mobilized an army who will honor his life by taking his mission to the next generation. We should mourn his life but celebrate his life, that's what Lee would have wanted us to do.
I am learning about Lee and his deep love of life, family and work from this video. While I wish I had met him when he was here in physical form, as I watched and listened to him and Kathy on this video, I somehow felt an authentic connection with Lee and his love for life. His connection with Spirit is evident, and Lee's powerful loving/caring energy truly lives on with us, as we ALL are connected to that same One Spirit. Lee teaches us that dying IS part of living. Aloha Lee and Mahalo Nui Loa
This man had so much dignity, I am touched. His dignity raises me to a higher consciousness. It is my hope that his gifted ability can be channeled through those he loved and worked alongside.
Lee was a teacher, friend and colleague of mine for the last decade. He made a mean Marquita, loved Rock and Roll, lived as an example for doctors taking care of themselves, and shared passions for ritual, breath work, and Hawaii. This trailer is wonderful, and I can't wait to read the book. As much as I will miss him on this plane of existence, I feel comforted to know he is there supporting us all from the other side. I love you Lee.
I only (barely) knew Lee in his last nine months of life, yet, in the brief glimpses that I had of his life, I witnessed a courage of spirit and mind that demonstrated comfort and ease with "what is," and a sense of preparation for his death based on having worked with his mind. Although he is no longer with those he loves, and is no longer able to offer his guidance to others, his death and his journey into dying are gifts to those who remain.
this is my girlfriend's uncle, he died a few days ago if anyone is wondering. I met him once, and he even had that beard thing, lol. <3 can't wait to read his book
Dr. Lipsenthal lived a beautiful life, shared openly with grace and humble dignity. His legacy will live on for lifetimes to come. Love, happiness, peace, and gratitude~
