  • Nice engine. I love the way it keeps turning and turning after killing the spark.......

  • I have one in my workshop. I need a new carb because mine has broken off the carb tap. I also need to unseize the hopper drainage tap and replace the spark plug and finally put in some petrol and hope for the best!

  • Excelent video there mate, I am still waiting to get one. A nice bit of polish and she will look as if it has just come out of the factory. 5*

    Thanks

    Daniel

  • @bartonlane thanks it is pretty good original condition, far to good to repaint :) im sure you will find what your looking for soon. Surprisingly there are loads of these engines about :) I haven't started it up in a good month and a bit, so i guess a video is in order

  • Nice, had one of these myself, rescued it from being crushed as scrap. Got a new coil wound for the magneto and it fired up first turn after having been sat up outside for about four years.

Keep it all oiled up and adjusted and it'll tick over like that for many years to come. Solidly built, understressed engines. Simple to operate and simple to enjoy!

  • @nigefoxx thanks, its nice to here that you saved one from near certain death and that it was a runner. Thanks again for your comment

  • wow i like that.now you have got one i must find one too.i wish you all the very best with it.

  • @crisp2882 these lister d's are a good place to in the world of these engines and they dont cost a fortune :)

  • what will you use that for

  • @GG360035 Im thinking of getting a large dynamo which will power a nice display of lights ect

  • nice man! thats a big engine, and it seems to be in great shape for being all original.

    5/5

  • @Chrisgarage1 it looks big but the engine only puts out 1.5 hp

  • @MO3MINI damn lol.

  • @Chrisgarage1 yep my little briggs is 3/4 the size and puts out 3 times more lol

  • @Chrisgarage1 holy crap thats nuts lol. how old is this engine?

  • @Chrisgarage1 the engine was made in 1945 making it 65 years old, my oldest engine yet :)

  • @MO3MINI damn thats old! Lol

    runs good tho.

  • It sounds so solid...good engine

  • @GatheringSticks it feels solid as well

  • Nice engine and it runs good ... cool vid

  • @MagicCadillac thanks and yes it does run great

  • Nice! Looks like a latter model in original condition and with the now rare seen air filter! Due to that filter I would say it was used on a cement mixer.

PM me the serial number and I can tell you what year she was built.

    Cheers,

    Phill.

  • @steamwally ok i will do, i was looking at the stationary engine forum and joined :)

i found a link to a table with the dates of these engines, my number puts my engine in at around 1945-46 :) but yes i will PM you to find out the date for sure

  • I quite like those engines, I would get one but they're too heavy. They have a chain driven magneto apparently! Common issue though for the chain to break, then the magneto stops working, and the timing changes too. I never used to know these were watercooled lol!

  • @MrMoterKid you can see the magneto at the end of the video, and yes it is chain driven. pretty mad to think they used magnetos in 1945 and theres my briggs with points -_-

Yep water cooled all summer and then drain it for use in the winter unless you have faith in antifreeze, may next video on this engine will be me asking for help. I only to what a few of things on it do :L

  • @MO3MINI Well, there's a brass tap on the bottom for draining out water. That's about all I know lol.

  • WAY SWEET i love thease!!!

  • @ils360 i loved them ever since i could walk :) thanks for the comment

  • nice engine. I used to watch these engines at steam rallies which lit up lightbulbs, pump water and things.

  • @popleycrew me too thats what got me started in the small engine world :)

  • Wow What a beauty, I have never seen one with an air filter like that though. Whats next for you now? something to run from it, small pump or shearing set, maybe a dynamo?

Runs really nice do you think you will restore it? or leave it original?

I guess you wont sleep tonight lol

    Kindest regards

    Martin

  • @austinmaxi555 after dragging it around i slept pretty well, i want to try and get a dynamo and make a real nice display of lights. Im not sure if im going to restore it or not, as all the original transfers are still visible.

  • Awesome engine man! Nice original condtion too

  • @mbyr31 yes im really liking the original condition i dont think i will be restoring it, but the starting handle could do with a lick of paint ;)
