Jayhawks, Old 97s, Son Volt, Wilco, Pete Droge, Sean Mullins, Mathew Sweet ...America has produced some great bands and artists over the last 20 years.
gary louris&the jayhawks are amazing!!! the greatest artist of his generation!!! i'll be seeing gary&mark olson in a couple of weeks in manchester!!! i cant wait!!! love them!!! they're perfect!!!
Seriously, if someone is going to buy their first Jayhawks album, start with the best........Hollywood Town Hall. One of the best albums....of all time.
@hooskerdu1 Honestly thats not a fair statement. Their albums are all so different there really isn't any best one to buy first. The best thing to do is buy ALL of them. And them immerse yourself in them because that is how you will learn to love the Jayhawks.
I love them! My husband introduced me to them when we were dating and since, they have won my heart. If you like them, try the Old 97's or even Thad Cockrell maybe.
I saw the Jayhawks at the Vogue in Indianapolis on the first night of their last tour. Along with Wilco, the Jawhawks are among the great underrated bands of the last 15 years.
I've been playing music many years, and was introduced to the Jayhawk sound only a few years ago.
I was blown away when i first heard them on an Austin City Limits concert. Between, "Save It For a Rainy Day,' and Angelyne," i became an instant fan after hearing these song.
timeless... can't get tired of this!
