  • I have relax!!!!

  • 1987!!!

  • music will not create such imagery in 2087!

  • i cast my line and pulled out this beauty.

  • Beautiful track. I wish all aphex's stuff was as good as this old gem.

  • wasnt this on wipeout ps1 ?

  • This was written in 2011. I can prove it on my BBC Micro.

  • @estuardo1 but... it says this video was posted in 2008...?

  • @alaskannarwhal

You do realize that the Youtube website was launched in early 2005, I believe. Back then the internet wasn't used by people as a publicity tool as frequently, so music didn't instantly get posted online.

  • Who cares when it was made, this song is timeless!

  • it Is from 1993, got the vinyl in front of me.

  • Wiki = unadulterated truth.

  • 'On' on vinal, try playing at 72 rather than 45, a completely different experience!

  • i've got this on vinal....whats it worth.....who wants it????

  • @imolaquick i think ebay would be a better website to ask that question

  • @imolaquick dont sell i't just dont it's worth the universe... in my eyes anyway

  • This version appears to 'jump' at the beginning. The original eased into the track. Is it supposed to be like this, and why?

  • I have the original CD, AND without diggin it out of the closet, I think it says 90 or 91.... just sayin, I am not going to dig one CD out of a box of like 200 at 9 pm.

  • @cbmail007 Is it past your mum's curfew?

  • @whiteflock No but I don't think the wifey wants me rummaging about in the bedroom closet while she's asleep..... & .... on the American Label, TVT, it is copyrighted 1994 neta

  • the pills have taken effect

  • '87? That would make him 16 or 17. I've got some catching up to be done (I'll put on one of his fast tracks)

  • can't stand alongside a digital bubblebath :p

  • I know this sounds weird, but this song sounds like it's underwater. Or you can imagine underwater images while listening.

Lol i sound well weird :P

  • @zackesposito your thinking whales

  • @baychecks100 I think whales aswell them in there harmony communing to each other..

  • He made this in 1987 and people are still copying him today and will for the next million years.

  • i just had an analogue bubble bath! was awesome.

  • I would have to say Richard James' heyday was in the mid 80's under the alias "the Scorpions".

  • 2012 thats the date.

  • @Soopaweirdo Just in case you still don't "hear" me: I only remember it from when I bought it when it came out in 1991, but this guy is saying it came out in 1987, so I said that sounds feasible because it has the same sound as his early tracks which were released on 'Selected Ambient Works'. Next time, try reading and understanding what people write before you make caustic comments.

  • @Soopaweirdo wtf are you talking about? I'm talking about the first Analogue Bubblebath E.P. you moron. This track isn't even on the "selected ambient works" album. My point was that it sounds like it could have been. Take a backseat and stfu.

  • My god he was only 16. Do you know how music was back then- glam rock- and depeche mode was boy band. This much ahead of their time was only kraftwerk when the show up

  • @Andrash88

There was loads of good electronic stuff around at that time. Acid house was coming up and so were the raves. Kraftwerk were around since the seventies.

  • Rich is a total genius. He probabally made this track while he was still in his teens; he started making music when he was 12 aparrently.

  • There is stuff on Selected Ambient Works 85-92 that sounds like this so I wouldn't be suprised if he made it earlier than 1991 before it's release.

  • I remember this coming out in 1991.

  • i think you will all find its from 1783, a grand year

  • hes the greatest inspiration of all time!

  • bliss yis yis yis!

  • Anyone can write anything they want on Wiki. Yes.

But for everyone that writes something wrong, there's billions of people who can change it to be correct.

Why focus on the negative? I'd take the advice of the whole world over just one person saying "ur wrong" on the internet.

  • @enternius Gah fuck, at first I thought from your first sentence that you were condemning the Wiki, so I downvoted but you defended it. Sozzy

  • Dolphins party music

  • Wiki says 1987. You wouldn't dare argue with wiki, would you?

  • Comment removed

  • @enternius Everybody can write everything in there. Come on. Don't be that dumb.

  • @enternius wiki... u mean that site anyone can edit any file?, oh no, who would argue that.....

  • @enternius Its not that important but this was definitely 1991, I remember it being a massive underground hit that year, i was working full time as a DJ back then and I got a copy, which still has 1991 on the label! I've looked it up on discogs (which is pretty exhaustive in how it catalogues music) and theres no reference to a 1987 release. Cheers

  • no this date is wrong. not 1987. its from 1991. search internet before posting lies.

  • .. this can't be true? aphex twin is the definition of curved reality and unnatural creativity!

  • Parts of this literally sound EXACTLY like the star tunnel music in Space Mountain at Disney World - I wonder if Disney used it?

  • does someone know the chords of that masteripiece?

  • Booootiful

  • from 1987? wow, this song is way ahead of its time

  • from 1987? Wow, this song is way ahead of its time

  • yeah its hard to believe, that 1987 when bands like new order, and all those cheesy 80s ballads were getting made, there was a guy in his moms basement basically creating something, that would totally change the conception of reality, i equate richard and what he did in music, to when bill gates invented microsoft windows

  • Richard's music like Windows? Thank god it's not!

Not a very nice thing to say.

  • Absolutely incredible. Nothing in the world can compare to the feeling I get when I listen to this track. Such a genius! An amazing track for the time, and still is now - timeless.
