How the fluff are you hitting almost every javelin shot? I have about a 50% hit ratio. other that that my strategy is about the same as yours, but i can't seem to keep gordin alive....which sucks cause he has good stat growths
No, he doesn't. Gordin sucks, his STR growth is too low and his DEF is not sufficient enough that you should care. The lowest hit rate I see in this chapter is usually 57% or so by Draug. If you're seeing lower, they must be on the Sea and this strategy works unless you miss TOO many times.
Just adjust and be careful to not have weakened units take too many hits.
Maybe in Normal, but in H5 that's a no. Gordin would've have been much better if his base stats were higher, had better SPD growth and STR. His DEF would make him the Lowen/Treck of the Cavaliers with reclass.
Yeah, I really hate using Jeigan characters, but I was forced to for this chapter. This is definitely one of the hardest chapters in the game for merciless mode.
I can beat the first part of this chapter on Hard 5 without having Jeigan enter combat, even if I do use him for roadblock utility. My first two videos on YouTube prove it. (I didn't even have to use ANYTHING but Iron stuff and Javelins. And I could even get away with building up Kain's abysmal Lance rank no less.)
You DO need Jagen. Well actually his weapon. He just sucks ass. When doing hard mode I would grind Draug's Lance skill to use the Jagen's Silver Lance. Usually was better used with Hardin though. Silver Bow? LOL use Draug's godly speed as a Hunter to double everything. O.o
The right thing to do with Jagen is to have all the others sit at spawn points and he suicide rushes forward without attacking.
2nd variable --> The # is the side-difficulty your playing.
Notice:
Information above/below are spoilers.
While playing normal. Your saved file will only state the Chapter (Ch.), the Chapter name (Example: Marth Embarks), and the # turns for that battle. The # of turns are only seen if you saved at a savepoint while fighting. Hard will also include this information as well.
Indeed. I beat the initial waves of the first 4 chapters without giving Jeigan EXP, I show that much on YouTube. Chapter 4 was even beaten with nothing but Marth's Rapier (one usage altoegther too) and characters in training class.
the really small screen makes it hard to see. combined with the lack of animations and the general bad graphics of this game, i don't think i'll be watching this series.
Sorry. I thought this was a Let's play that would show everything. I never played the game and just wanted to see what it's like.

Do you have a prologue?

@thn10606
H5 does not have a prologue. It starts from chapter 1.

@ThunderManEX but when gordin turns into a sniper he rapes

well i'm in hard 4 right now and gordin helps soo fucking much
battlepower777 2 years ago
sooo am i the only one that start off by just running jagen with an iron sword to the fort at the middle of the map for a single round?
WHATTHEFUCKYOUMAN 2 years ago
I know some1 that does it but I don't since the avoid isn't reliable enough to me.
ThunderManEX 2 years ago
I do that and it works every time for me. I never lose any units.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
You don't have to use Jagen at all this chapter. Waste of XP/weapon skill.
mjemirzian 3 years ago
Makes things easier. Don't really mind WEXP at the moment and they'll be getting plenty of EXP.
ThunderManEX 3 years ago
Did you notice that he is playing on H5/Merciless? I'm personally not that good but I'm getting better quickly.

Nice, a downvote for pointing out poor playing.
If you're 'not that good' maybe you should stay away from making oblivious comments.

I give him an upvote because he's at least speaking the truth.
Also, that would be "obvious comments", not oblivious, Einstein.

He makes the chapter a lot easier. Like Falchion said, this is merciless mode. Meaning Jagen is pretty necessary.

I also have a video proving that you don't need Jagen. "Jagen is not necessary".

H5 is actually set up in this way...
1st variable --> The H stands for Hard.
2nd variable --> The # is the side-difficulty your playing.

it's entirely possible to complete H5 without giving Jeigan any XP at all
of course you are all too bad to figure that out.. sorry

Yes, what a shame that the mass of scrubs here seems to be deluded otherwise.

Why do you use the grid? it always seemed a bit redundant to me.

Makes it easier to read the range so I don't have to highlight enemies each and every time.

No1's forcing you. Animations are a waste of time, even if I had them on, I'd just skip them.

I'll try to upload one chapter a day so maybe I'll get chapter 3 done today... but I've got some homework and appointments to take care of =\
