This ISN'T story about brother and sister, this is story about two people who closed their hearts and didn't need love but they fell in love with each other when they least expected, thats what makes this story so beautiful.

As well the mustache guy and the way he seems to appear and talk he kinda makes me think like he isn't a creditor but symbolizes the devil on whom Julian took out a " debt" from and like all the stories where the devil always wants the person life in return for something Julian is in a race from the beginning with the clock the mustache/ devil guy has in order to repay the money and when the time is up Julians life is the price and if you pay close attention no one one in the movie looks at him

I don't get it, Julian isn't her real brother and she knows that. She even said that she loves him in front of everybordy when they ate dinner for the last time, so why were she shouting out brother when he was to die, and some people are saying of course they didn't kiss under the tree, he is her brother, but hello he is NOT her brother, that was just a LIE!!!
@roseaa7 While he was dying she was shouting "Oppa" thats how girls in Korea address older guys, so generaly she can say "Oppa" to a friend , brother, even boyfriend, and I think she definitely wasn't shouting "brother" at the end cause he wasn't her brother and they both knew that.

She closes her eyes and her brother appears, and they finally meet again :) I think Julian survived the stabbing and recovered as well. They probably just met again after recovering from hospitalization. Even though her brother (Julian) appears from nowhere, Min does tell him he's warm, so I doubt it's his ghost.
I don't think either of them died. The house is like this in the last scene because she probably sold it and moved out, or just visiting to revisit the past.
She survived the operation and can see again (checking her reflection in the mirror, gazing into the orb while lying down). She only closes her eyes so she can read the letter and remind herself of her brother's voice. Once she's ready, she sets on her way to the tree in the orb (apple tree planted was likely a sapling and was dug out)..
Nice...I like it...in innocent steps she (MGY) also don't have a kissing scene with her leading man, but the movie SO romantic & touchable.
I love Julian/Jin the leading man, his not that handsome but he's such a great actor. the role suits him, the more I see him the more I found this guy really attractive by his own way...

4. Color, I've noticed, is a running theme with Min. White for purity, Black for mourning/sadness, Red (finally) for love
Ah, but I've fallen in love with this movie. Julian's a terrible rake/wastrel but his love for her is his only redeeming character. It's terrible and wonderful all the same. I wished they had lived but at least they're together now.
sometimes i dont understand korean movies and there endings.i know that he is dead,but what happened to her?is she also dead?and when did it happen,that she died?but if she is that,i am happy that after that they came together. =)
i really love how Koreans write such wonderful stories...romance, comedy, action, thrill, suspense..everything is perfect, even dramas, that really make me cry every time i watch them, with the help also of the actors and actresses, they really act so good that you can feel like it's for real..aja aja fighting!!!
I never imagined this movie would be as beautiful and touching as it was. I'm sitting here on my bed feeling somewhat empty from this ending. I don't know if I should feel sad or happy that they are finally together in death...in the next life. I wonder, with the life that he lived and the kind of person he was, would he really be able to meet her again in heaven? There is no greater love than giving up your life for another....so maybe, just maybe his sins were forgiven. I hope so......
This movie isn't the first one I've watched and ended up crying while watching but it was the first serious drama I've fallen in love with. The acting was spectacular; I fell in love with Jin and Min. Thanks for uploading ;)

@cHoT1L What do you think? The voice(Julian) over telling "..if it was fate to meet you...etc" that's not the letter Min is reading, BUT like Julian (in heaven/in spirit) expressing himself to Min. The directors idea in this part is really interesting, making it more beautiful, amazing and sweet ending in itself, like the famous "Titanic" meeting at the end ^_^

@cHoT1L I think you're right...I didn't read all these comments (below), I just was estatic they he is alive...though, with those number of stabs, like 9 (?), it's a miracle one will survive, even rushed to the hospital....I didn't recognized the tree that it was from the globe, all I thought (too) that she went into her surgery and now can see, now come to think of it, Julian "kept" his promise of looking for Min "wherever she may be" =(....I love the move too. Thanks.

@cHoT1L What do you think? The voice(Julian) over telling "..if it was fate to meet you...etc" that's not the letter Min is reading, BUT like Julian (in heaven/in spirit) expressing himself to Min. The directors idea in this part is really interesting, making it more beautiful, amazing and sweet ending in itself, like the famous "Titanic" meeting at the end ^_^

Should go to hell and so should the males that do it too. Let the viewers decide for them self who goes to where, and it's kinda obvious they went to heaven everybody deserves a second chance whether in the after life or on earth. God gaved us free will and it's up to us how we use it.

ALSO as everyone was like ohh sweet so sad they r together but dead.
..but i wanted to reflect upon is different treatment of men n women...lets say the roles where switched will everyone will be ok with that....i m sure there will be something be said to miss moon n i doubt she will play such role as it will damage her so moral image of korean's sweet sister.....

i think most of the korean movies have sad ending or no ending at all.... they love to leave to the viewers to think what will be the ending..... unfortunately... i hate that....

thought that since the mustache creditor was telling him to get a 'modest life' in the beginning he was making him to regret his life thus far.
thought the mustache guy was the sort of 'fairie who pretends to be an old man' and gets him to suffer before ryu relizes more worth to his life
and that the ending will be alright,n no one had to die
didnt expect that coming..
but i absolutely loved the ending, n i cud comprehend the meaning of the letter better after mun read it again b4 she dies.
