One of the FIRST bills Koch set Walker up to push through was for a law allowing the governor to sell or GIVE AWAY all state power plants, without recourse by anyone.  Now they claim they'll be auctioned? Don't believe it.

Koch has oil and paper stuff all over WI and MN and surrounding states. Our losing control of it to them will result in damaging the soil and clear-cutting the forests up north, before they spit us out.

Wisconsin was preparing to upgrade their power plants and begin the necessary move toward alternative energy. Then Walker won. Koch claims they have no plans to buy the power plants, but there's always leases, right? At least a spotlight is on this issue.

@Oilwellian The bill they wanted allow him to GIVE AWAY the power plants, and he even announced that they were "in terrible shape" and it would be in the best interest of the state to give them away. Lest there by any confusion about his intent.

@kansasdem1 Please read some of the 800 ALEC model bills adopted by the coalition of huge corporations.  One of them explicitly provides for no liability and prohibits any environmental laws from being passed on any governmental level.

I looked into the electricity sell-off in Australia.The 2 co's that bought it for a song? Origin Energy and TruEnergy. Both companies I traced back to the 'city of London.

And the parent co of 1, Origin, is BG (British Gas , parent = BP)

And we made the electric station run on Gas.. wow. BG has announced a huge new Gas filed in Queensland! So we paid for the refit. It was sold for pennies, and the parent will give OUR gas to it, then sell power to us RETAIL! Nice

The department may sell any state−owned heating, cooling, and power plant or may contract with a private entity for the operation of any such plant, with or without solicitation of bids, for any amount that the department determines to be in the best interest of the state.

So essentially the mainstream media is keeping us distracted with union rights when energy privatization is hidden.
