Actually while I know people will virtually lynch me for saying this, but MGS' Story seems about as complex as your average anime and I understood it without playing ANY of the games

The story is simple, but did you understand every little thing about it; from the Foxdie virus to the metal gears to Outer Haven to why Liquid planned everything the way it happened etc. etc. etc.

The basic premise (sneak past bad guy to have fight with other bad guy) is obviously simple as fuck, but to truly understand the depth of the story you need to understand everything, otherwise you're just fucking yourself.

when first entering the storage building ...if you use the upper vent to gain access to the inside you don't really have to worry about the scarabs at all..just like in the mgs1. i loved the beginning of this act, all the memories of first playing the twin snakes came back. anyone who is playing mgs4 without playing the previous titles is missing out enormously.

btw, a faster way of doing the gecko distraction bit is to just use the railgun to kill it in one shot, then the timer just disapears and the door opens

yo there's an easier way to kill that gekko. Go to the right of where he is, and when he goes to the lower floor, shoot at his leg with the mk.2 pistol, he goes down and you go to his head and kill him with the m4. And when he's dead, you don't have to wait those 2 min, it goes to 0 inmediately.

hey people if you are playing through a second time or something or can afford the .50 cal sniper thing, it works great to kill those in a few shots. also, you can use the mk III to activate the control panel you shot in mgs1 and electrute the gekko in the hall

and killing them or the little hand robots does NOT count as a kill

Best way to sort out that last Gekko while Mk3 is sorting out the door... Rail Gun, fully charged shot, right through the head. Then miraculously, Mk3 doesn't need 3min to do the door anymore, it opens immediately...

I dunno if it counts as a kill if you kill the gekko but if u just javelin/rail gun/ generally kick ass the gekkko it skips the whole mk III timer so it only takes like 5 seconds to do this part. but this is void if the gekko counts as a kill so please comment on this.

shooting it is many other options, wait till it goes down to the ground level, and theres boxes covered in green cloth. just press up against it and press r1 and make a sound. keep distracting it from side to side.

I can't seem to distract the Gekko while Mk 3 is opening the door. He always jumps down immediately after the scene ends, and then he comes over and spots Mk 3, and then its an alert.

Small hint, at 5 30 or whatever you dont have to go to the elevator first, you can go straight to the door then the elevator.

Did it on my fourth and it was good enough. Btw, it's The Boss Extreme, not Big Boss. Yeah, you cannot get the Big Boss Emblem playing the Big Boss difficulty. Oh well.
