  • this should be the fighting team song of the ny giants

  • 3 New England Patriots fans dislike this video. Eli's coming !

  • This song will be huming in Tom Brady's head in the final minutes of Super Bowl 46. Go Big BLUE!!!!!!!

  • Lets get this W GMEN !!!!!

  • There wouldn't have been Three Dog Night without Cory and Danny since they started it and invited Chuck to join, :-) My favorite band when I was a kid.

  • the guitar player with the blond hair is cutting up at the end lol that hair is flying all over the place.

  • They're laughing cause its all lip synced.

  • cool reminds me of the cory wells blues band.

  • New 4th quarter song for the New York Giants

  • Great cover of the Laura Nyro song! :-)

  • GO GIANTS!!!!

  • Super Bowl baby.

  • One of the best vocal blends in the history of pop music and good arrangers.Sorely overlooked and underappreciated.

  • "Eli.............Manning............is coming"

  • Chuck what's in that purse?

  • Are they having fun or what?

  • Big win for Eli today!

  • WOW, i thought a black group sang this. AMAZING voices.

  • first it was The Beatles then it was Three Dog Night then it was Elton John... then.. yo mama

  • Kind of hard to believe that these dorky looking guys could belt it out like this lol

  • Outstanding Vocalized-Group/Band THREE DOG NIGHT-you guys are so special to me. Love, you legendary Three Dog Night-Danny Hutton, Cory Wells, Chuck Negron, Jimmy Greenspoon, Michael Allsup, Floyd Sneed and Joe Schermie (rest in sweet peace, Joe..'great smile). ELI's Coming is one of my favorites, along w/Pieces of April, Out In the Country, Celebrate, Liar, Serenade You, I'll Be So Happy, so, so, many treasure Classics from this much beloved ONE MAN BAND band THREE DOG NIGHT. Godbless!!

  • this song should be the team fighting song of the new york giants!!! yeah

  • It's always impressive when a group can perform a song on TV and have it sound exactly like it does on the LP. Oh wait...

  • @ShatteredVinyl lmbo.. back in the 60s 70s we did not know !

  • Every one of the young men are tops. This was one of my Very Favorite dance-to-it tunes.

  • I WANT WHAT THEYVE BEEN TAKING =D

  • sorry

    it's Lip Synch.

  • Chuck is so damn SEXY!!!!!!

  • Great tune, great band, worst job of "lip-synching" ever.

  • chuck rules... but lose the stache brother

  • @djk28161 Bite half of your tongue! Chuck's stache TOTALLY rules!

  • good tune,no comment on Cory,lol

  • Love the group and the 70's.....I think my brother still has those pants!

  • My name is actually Eli so hide your hearts

  • Damn! That was great.

  • (Back when lip-syncing was a given) Three Dog Night were praised even by the critics for their ability to completely harmonize - funny how I remember that as I really don't give a crap for critics. They were great!!!

  • Danny, the one singing lead here, is by far the sexiest of the three.

  • @whatthehec108 No, thats Cory and yes he is the sexiest.

  • Chuck and Cory are both just so HAWT!!! And I always love to see them perform because Cory usually has this big smile on his face, and they look like they're just having so much fun! What great memories they must have!

  • Sure looks like they where haven fun!!

  • I love the guy who sings lead on this. He's always smiling; it's adorable. Chuck had a slightly better voice but Cory's the better performer.

  • @heavenlymush - Chuck has a beautiful voice , no doubt, but not better than Cory's or Danny's, they're all different - 3 great vocalists . Technically as a singer Cory is the most versatile of the three.

  • @teegaro Chuck IS the sexiest of the 3 and the best voice, hands down, and they are unique for sure..

I saw 2 of their shows at Swing Auditorium with Ballin'jack, and Blues Image (Ride, Captain Ride), and 3 Dog Night could flat out rock and roll with anyone...bubble gum, hardly.

Yes, the girls screamed, (me included) but they HAD the sound that put up over the top.

I saw Cory and Danny get into a fight onstage one show, and ripped each others shirts off, onstage....!!

  • This is absolutely the BEST video of this group and this song. My fav!!

  • hey, the first thirty seconds was live that's more than ya get these days.... too that it's really the most awesom half minute i've herd for a while

  • This version sure sounds like the studio version of the song. I love Three Dog Night but there was some serious lip syncing goin on here.

  • love Three Dog Night !! especially Cory , he's the best.

  • FABULOUS!

  • Cory is so Freaken Hot :))))))) (in this at least)

  • can't remember if i commented on this about 6 months ago, but just have to shout out for my co-favorite TDN tune (with Old Fashioned Love Song) - played this over & over as a child & gladly listen to it over & over as an "old man" (my teenaged daughter thinks 50 is "scary old", lol...)

  • @akibubba1 --I hear ya. I wasn't much on who any members of any band were back in the late 60's-mid-70's, so I'm just now learning. I can't believe I went all this time not realizing that Chuck didn't sing the lead on this! Cory has an awesome voice. As to your age, Larry the Cable Guy has a "Word of Wisdom" that just about sums up my present life: "Inside every old person is a young person, saying "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED??" Peace to you.

  • Chuck Negron's autobiography is one of the most harrowing I've ever read. A true story of despair and redemption.

  • i love these freaky guys

  • Danny started this group. He already had some success. He said he wanted 2 guys that sang "better that him". Cory had his own group (Cory Wells and the Enemies). They were touring with Sonny & Cher. Then they invited Chuck because he had a very high, smooth voice. Cory had a gospel background. you can hear it in the ruff sound of his voice.

  • I think if you look carefully Cory is actually singing a duet with Danny and Chuck is actually pulling back intentionally because his vocals are not needed at a certain point. It would seem that there are parts of song where Chuck is not having to join in, if you study video carefully ..

  • @songbuff61 Yet he does an excellent solo of this song! Chuck is the most talented of them. That shows after they went on their own.

  • alright. awesome shit! f*cked up lip synching. They rule tho.

  • Do you know why they called themselves Three Dog Night? It was because they had 3 lead singers.

  • @TheMustangsally75 no it was from an old eskimo saying explaining how cold it was the colder the night the more sled dogs you slept with to keep warm

  • @TheMustangsally75 It refers to how cold the night would be. I think it was the eskimos who would sleep with their sled dogs for warmth. A three dog night would have meant a very cold one.

  • These guys all look like cocker spaniel-human hybrids...great song though. Good vocalization

  • Back in the day I took them for granted, I never realized what great vocals, all three of them sing lead - outstanding!

  • @dezertfox4323

I definately have to agree with you! I grew up in that era and always loved Three Dog Night, but I'm just now really starting to appreciate how awesomely talented they really were! Cory Wells was such a cutie back then!!

  • Lord in heaven do I love this song. Give me back the days this song was released and all the other wonderful music from that time.

  • check out my music on iacmusic.com search "ruminate" and "politics of exclusion",,,

  • Dang. Looks like they were partaking in somethin' good n goofy b4 this performance! They always seemed to be having fun, but this, this must've been some EXTRA good shit. =-P

  • @MissDLB66 That was just the way Cory was. He wasn't into the drug scene. But thats not to say for the rest of them. hehe

  • It looks like they were trying not to bust out laughing about something. They still are one of the greats!

  • Ah, the good ole days of flaired pants,CPO jackets and hang 10 shirts.

  • @MyRumplestiltskin ' there was something about corey's voice that left me cold

    I don;t care for it,that's all

  • Chuck negron& danny Hutton always will be my two favorite Three Dog Night Frontmen ( I hate Cory's voice)

  • @Freyja1133 coreys voice was so strong and vibrant???

  • Chuck negron& danny Hutton always will be my two favorite Three Dog Night Fronten

  • @elijahthecrazy are you coming?

  • @Trashfished Soon very soon.

  • Just met Chuck Negron live in Canandaigua NY and he signed autographs and CD covers after the show. Why is TDN not in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame?

  • Yeah, it's about you ;)

  • 3 DOg night in person is an awesome concert that you'll never forget saw them last about 10 years ago in the pouring rain awesome dancing in the aisles

  • I was singing this during the week.. brings back many, many memories.. hahah

  • pharoahe monch-'broken heart'

  • Wow, I never saw Cory Wells looking so goofy...

  • Chuck had the most gorgeous hair!

  • @bcrfan21 Around 1970 my Father asked me "Did you ever see a bald Hippie"? He went bald at 18 & I had very long hair until age 25.There were rock musicians who wore long hair wigs. The good ones look exactly like real hair because they are real hair.Toupees & hairpieces are probably much harder to make!

  • @RasMajnouni Well my father had a head full of hair until the day he died. Thick and wavy.

  • Comment removed

  • @bcrfan21 and he passed away at the age of 67.

  • i'll sing any part vacant

  • I have known Chuck for over 20 years, and as a music producer, I will never stop trying to get them back together one more time...btragic8...never....

  • HeeHee... My name is Eli I was born in '74 and I was named after this song... Love these guys...

  • What's in the hippie purse Chuck?

  • Comment removed

  • the reason their seemingly enjoying themselves so much, is because they think lip syncing is funny, and they probably feel a little bit like idiots.

  • ohh jimmy Greenspoon

  • Only an idiot wouldn't like Three Dog Night.

  • You could always feel the joy in Cory's performances .........love these Guys, but Cory made them a stage presence.

  • it even seemed as far back as this is that Cory did not like Chuck, just watch his body language towards Danny and then towards Chuck, he acts like Chuck is not even there, but he is very cordial w/ Danny..its kinda childish to have that tension on stage this early in their careers as well..

  • The "original fanny pack!" Thumbs up!

  • Saw these guys in NYC - they opened for Steppenwolf - and they were really good. Their rhythm section was amazing. They are totally lip-synching here, though...

  • Saw these guys in NYC - they opened for Steppenwolf - and they were really good. Their rhythm section was amazing.

  • Get Three Dog Night in the Hall of Fame. A distrace.

  • there not the same without Floyd

  • Never going to happen. They offered Chuck the opportunity to return to TDN....BUT not as a full partner

  • I love this song. What I like most about this video is that they are happy to be up there.

  • Maybe we need to start blasting the hits all over Twitter and Facebook and Get the Hall of fame to recognize them! They belong in The Hall Of Fame... They also need to put the past behind them and Do a Tour together...They were soooooo Great Together! We need One More THREE DOG NIGHT!

  • The one in the pink shirt is just fantastic.

  • @Karen41159 That's Cory Wells. I agree with you 100%. You have good taste.

  • This music was #1 when in the USMC waiting to go to Nam or not .....in Califas, yeah.

  • I'm 20 and I used to dress like this in high school XD I loved the 70s too much.

  • I compared this video to one they made in 1975. They have a lot more fun in this one than the 1975 version. I wonder if the stress was starting in the 1975 video of the same song. They are one of the best bands. The harmony blows me away. Did they write their own songs?

  • yeah, Blondie is in the HOF.. and Three Dog Night is snubbed. HOF is a joke.

  • @bpotter53029 I too believe they should be in the HOF. I know of countless other acts not there. Eg. KISS,

Chicago, America, ELO, Hermans Hermits, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Donna Summer, Peter Frampton,

Small Faces, Grass Roots, Paul Revere & Raiders, Dave Edmunds, X, Ringo Starr, Andrew Loog Oldham,

Lou Adler, Casey Kasem, I could go on forever. Give me your take.

    Regards,

    Chris

  • Great song. First Three Dog song I heard way back in 1969.

God those fashions were ugly weren't they?

  • What great bands from the 60's & 70's! They blow away bands from subsequent decades as a general rule.

  • The lead singer looks like Howard Walowitz from Big Bang Theory.

  • ahhhh laura nyro

  • Which one went broke and was living out on the streets?

  • @huskyjerk and which one split his junk from too much sex

  • @huskyjerk you're probably thinking of Danny Hutton's girlfriend June Fairchild, who was in the news when she became homeless(she gave the band it's name).

  • Three Dog Night>> Just AWESOME!

  • IN 1991 OR 1992 IN PUERTO RICO ,I WENT TO A CONCERT OF THREE DOG NIGHT,I THINK IT WAS IN THE CONVENTION CENTER,MAN WHAT A NIGHT,THE BEST OF MY LIFE

  • they're probably cracking up trying to keep from laughing cuz they are lipsincing and trying not to make a visual mistake ;)

  • @trevlac3 Love Three Dog Night...but you're right! That was the music vid scene then...

  • who is the dude in the pink?

  • Back in the day.. the stages and facilites were not there for music performance on TV. The stages were small, barlely able to accomodate the musicians. Basically it will look lip/synced. Oftentimes the performers did play however, when it was broadcasted on TV, the music would be dubbed in.

That is how TV was back in th late 1960's and most of the 1970's.

Bear in mind, this was done with no computers, most programs were live.

Chuck did have his hippie bag though... : D

  • goldenstarpcfl: Oh, I've always thought 3 Dog Night did some fine blue-eyed soul, and this song was a fine example. I'm pretty sure some producer told them the song was too passionate, too earnest, and they had to look like teeny-bops for this particular TV show. To me, the great song and powerful vocals clash with the silly smiles.

  • This is one of the worst lip-synching atrocities I've encountered online - pathetic from such a fine group. Notice: Cory barely breathes (and smiles like a 10 year old boy on quaaludes), but sounds like he is roaring, and at 2:17 his mouth is shut when you hear him sing "shake it!" And, the organ is absent in the video, powerful in the soundtrack. I guess nobody noticed back in the 70s, and it seems no one cares today. . .

  • @DrYattz Lip-synching, maybe in this one, but it's still their voices, unlike Milli-Vanilli. I've followed them since they started and those three men have distinctive singing voices. If you really have an "ear" for music, you'd know that. They were not phonies. Back when they performed on TV shows (before MTV) maybe it was done that way, but you can't deny that 3 part harmony..

  • @goldenstarpcfl This isn't lip-synching. What you're seeing is video and sound done on different equipment so motion and sound are not 100% in synch. Nobody lip-synched in those years. All performances were live.

  • @goldenstarpcfl I thought I heard a few minor differences with the studio version which I love ("blue-eyes soul indeedy !), but I might be wrong… This playing with the mike without any differences in vocal tone looks like a giveway ! But maybe, back in Ye Daze, they could not play live in a TV studio ?

  • I missed the 3 Dog Night Night on TV in 1972.I think I would have remembered it.:(At least I got to see Danny and Cory at two state fairs in the 1990's,one in Southern Calif. and one in NC.I had a huge arse crush on Danny.
