Why are you using Quadrant? It hasn't been updated in over a year. Not only does it not support ICS, but it also doesn't support dual-core devices. Quadrant is absolutely useless right now

Yeah I had an Epic 4G Touch for a bit and it was a bit smoother than the Nexus. Of course if the bugs can be sorted out, the Nexus is going to be an amazing device and hold it's own against the best out there. Especially with the backing of a Nexus, I believe the Nexus will be the winner at the end, but I can't lie the Epic 4G Touch was a demon in the speed department.

@GaaraOfTheDesert212 Well put but what specs did you want? The only thing the GSII got going for it is Exynos whichis overrated. The TI OMAP processor performs just fine. RAZR benchmark scores were pretty close btw and that phone has the TI 4430, GNex has the 4460 which is underclocked. It really runs @ 1.5GHz. It can run @ that speed reliably and it would outperfrom the GSII. Like or not, the Nexus is the better device. GSII is already outdated and wont get ICS for months

I love my nexus, its specs are on par with the Sii, has a better screen, can be over locked easy, the dev support is SO much better, and like I said, a device that's actually future proof. I just don't see why some stuff had to be "downgraded" to general public who know really nothing about phones.

I blame that more on ICS and I feel very positive Google will resolve those issues. This phone will get the best support hands down. Just unlock the processor to run at 1.5GHz and get the extended battery and you'll be good to go

In my area with my htc hero i get 2 - 4 mbps up and 2 - 3 mbps down I cant imagine how the speeds are on the epic . Ive seen videos of the epic on 4g in my area and it easily got 8 - 13 mbps up and 7 - 10 mbps down. In my opinion the Epic is the winner. The only thing the Gnex has over the Epic is that it has ics.

Epic4GTouch will shit on GNexus when it gets ICS!
Epic4GTouch has Touchwiz 4.0, Super Amoled PLUS screen, 2 keyboards, 2MP front camera and 8MP rear camera, Exynos processor, thinner, better design with textured back cover, sd card slot
GalaxyNexus ice cream sandwich, super amoled hd screen, 1 keyboard, 1.3MP front camera (not 2!!!) 5MP rear (not 8!!!!) TI OMAP processor not as fast as Enynos! thicker, no sd card slot!
Face it Epic 4G Touch haters, it will have Touchwiz 4.0 plus bonus with ICS

@PrincessOTFH Eh.. I definitely agree the 4GTouch is an awesome phone. I always recommend this phone to my friends who don't have Verizon. However, Verizon we get LTE. And I've gotten 26hrs so far with it. But normally 17hrs modern use. Not to mention, you're not gonna notice much speed diffidence, if any at all, between the two devices processor wise. And the point of this phone is to NOT have a skin like TouchWiz on it. Oh, also, our phone IS future proof. It's NFC enabled. Right now,

@PrincessOTFH it is pretty gimmicky, but that's because it's the first batch. Paying with my phone at CVS and Best Buy is AWESOME and always blows peoples minds. And more phones are going to be getting it in Q2 of 2012 while the 4G epic Touch users are stuck without it for 1-2yrs(depending on when you bought it) when NFC (hopefully)starts to hit off in more stores. Also, for people that love too root their phones, the Nexus is the obvious choice! Go to a forum and look at how many roms there

@GaaraOfTheDesert212 it boils down to if that person wants a skin or not. I only had stock android once then htc sense now touch wiz. I personally like touchwiz. But you're right, some people only like pure google and it get faster updates so you won't be outdated. I was just saying my opinion. Both are phones you can won with anyway. Like I said, its if you want a skin or not.

@GaaraOfTheDesert212 Well put but what specs did you want? The only thing the GSII got going for it is Exynos whichis overrated. The TI OMAP processor performs just fine. RAZR benchmark scores were pretty close btw and that phone has the TI 4430, GNex has the 4460 which is underclocked. It really runs @ 1.5GHz. It can run @ that speed reliably and it would outperfrom the GSII. Like or not, the Nexus is the better device. GSII is already outdated and wont get ICS for months

I love my nexus, its specs are on par with the Sii, has a better screen, can be over locked easy, the dev support is SO much better, and like I said, a device that's actually future proof. I just don't see why some stuff had to be "downgraded" to general public who know really nothing about phones.

@GaaraOfTheDesert212 I love mine too and I'm a previous GSII owner. They're just suffering from hater syndrome lol. I admit the GNex isn't without it's issues but I dont blame on that phone. I blame that more on ICS and I feel very positive Google will resolve those issues. This phone will get the best support hands down. Just unlock the processor to run at 1.5GHz and get the extended battery and you'll be good to go

@MagentaUser Oh for sure man! And mines overclocked to 1.42ghz right now on AXIOM v2.1 and this thing is a beast. The 4.0.3update isn't too big, but the next one I'm sure will make this phone into the beast it truly is.

@MagentaUser but see, you have to do all that, just to be better than the epic 4g touch.
we aren't talking about all of that. because i could overclock my Exynos processor to 1.5 and then boom. way better then that Ti omap 1.5 Ghz. out of the box, The CLEAR winner, is the ep touch. again only thing nexus has is ICS 4 and 720 (PENTILE mind you) Display. Nexus Owners just can't accept the fact that any phone is better than it. but in reality, the ep touch is in fact better than the nexus.

@mack3135759778 I think GSII owners are just trying to justify their purchase by hating on the Nexus. Cause all the GSII has going for it is Exynos honestly. When the GSII does get ICS in many months (I wouldn't hold my breath knowing Samsung) from now it probably wont run it as smoothly either thanks due to TouchWiz overlay. Not to mention it will take away from the beauty that is ICS.

And As Far As The TouchWiz Comment, I'm Rooted And Will Be Running STOCK ICS, So That Doesn't Effect Me. And The Epic Has A Lot. 4.52" Super Amoled Plus Display. The GN Software Buttons Take Up Space Unless Your Watching Something. So That Isn't A Size Difference. And Again, The Screen Is All It Has Better HARDWARE Wise. And Software, Once It Gets ICS Its No Competition

@PrincessOTFH are already for this phone. It's crazy. We'll also get updates up the ass so when new phones with better specs come out, we'll be right up there with them. I'm not bashing the Galaxy SII in any way, it's an awesome phone. ICS will be a beast on it that's for sure. I wish the Nexus had similar specs, don't know why they did that.. But SII will get outdated faster then the Nexus due to it being a flagship pure Google phone.

I know my phone is from Sprint but I went into the Verizon store because I was curious to see the phone with my own eyes. I will admit its a wonderful phone and would get it any day. But I am under contract and got this phone when it came out. The Galaxy Nexus did impressed me when I played with it in the store. I mainly went into Verizon just to see it.

I honestly hate quadrant scores and speed tests.. they should never be a deciding factor when buying a phone..depending on where you are they change and in real world situations they don't mean anything..

Someone get out the tissues, I see alot of tears on this wall. Gnex has: a better display and a newer OS. EpTouch has: a better processor, a better camera, faster transitions, and will have the new OS in no time. Hardware to hardware, the specs call EpTouch the winner. Stock Android also lacks the customization of Touch Wiz, yet Touch Wizard displays no added lag. Stop whining and bow before the king ;)~

I love how when Aaron, declares the winner and people do not agree with him, they immediately just say he is being paid off! @mack3135759778 The 720p looks worlds better than 800x480 on a big ass 4.5" display. Looks fucking ridiculous with huge ass fonts. Ugh. Far as limited data goes, I dont have that problem. I have the old unlimited data plan and was grandfathered in ;)

because the updates come, quickly, (except some carrier controlled NEXUS), it will get updated to JELLY BEAM, a beautiful phone, but the SAmoled HD seem strange in low brightness.
the better phone will still the S2 for the Normal consumers, but a developer-geek-curious, take the nexus.

clearly haters gonna hate, i have a Galaxy Nexus, but i don't think that it its better than any other phone, i think that the s2 is better, because the ice cream sandwich is... not complete, and it have some lags, it need some more development, the camera sucks,(but its very good in Lighter conditions), the GPU seems to be underclocked aside the processor, its a good phone that will become better with updates, (recently was fixed an issue with the camera, not a consumer phone...),but i love it!

I cant wait to get my Epic (especially since its getting ics next year which i dont really care for but its nice to have) this friday idk why you guys complain about sprints network. In my area with my htc hero i get 2 - 4 mbps up and 2 - 3 mbps down I cant imagine how the speeds are on the epic . Ive seen videos of the epic on 4g in my area and it easily got 8 - 13 mbps up and 7 - 10 mbps down. In my opinion the Epic is the winner. The only thing the Gnex has over the Epic is that it has ics.

@FlaviusCleon listen dumbass specs are overrated. The most important thing is the user experience. You're a geek caught up in the spec sheet too much. I know more about smartphones then you'll ever know. The main reason why the galaxy nexus is wayyyy better than the epic 4g is user experience. Samsung's touchwiz can't compare to the kind of user experience android 4.0 has to offer. So right now the better phone is the galaxy nexus hands down.

Just for information : Even if the display has WVGA res, it's brighter and more saturated colors, the camera is more more better, the GPU ( the most important ) and the CPU is better, the speaker of the Gnexus is the worst speaker of any smartphones, there is a micro-SD slot, it will be updated to ICS in March, noway it's just better !

Fact is, Samsung Galaxy SII Epic 4G touch is the best phone released in 2011..!! It has the better combination!! The only thing the Galaxy Nexus has over the Epic 4G touch is ICS and the display!! But you can clearly see which phone is KING..!! :-)
