They are sucking the money out of all of our pockets and now is trying to get local stations removed so you have to pay for it. I have a FTA dish and is getting plenty of stations and if I knew better I would have gotten one which gets both C and Ku band channels. I purchased an outdoor antenna which don't have to be set up high like the older one and works great with analog or digital TV's and the signals are clear.
Your signal wont go out with minor storms if it was installed correctly and pointed to optimum signal levels. bit if it was done poorly, your signal will go out. FUCK DISH NETWORK they treat technicians no better than replaceable trash.
i have bowtie antenna with dtv converter get 3 channels,i'm not paying for tv! cable subscribers are suckers! i watch shows online! screw comcast and the like!
From experience, ditch DirecTV if u can. It's funny how in one commercial they show a pretty serious storm where they go on to say that the signal is still good. Hmm...I beg to differ. Sometimes when it's just cloudy it GOES OUT! Plus, they keep taking channels off & charging the same price. RIP OFF!!!
Directv has many issues with weather related signal interuptions..... Rain, Ice, snow etc all cause problems with their signals. Also, if you cancel Directv, they leave the dish. It's up to you to take it down.......

If u seal the foot properly, it won't leak! bishop tape! not silicone! Why? silicone does not bond with the asphalt shingle.I have re-trained many techs, now they bank! just like me!!! ha ha ha!

I am a certified class A installer for DirecTV, I often see this kind of work from contractors for DirecTV and Dish alike. I know this becuase I always have to re-install that dang work which I hate. That is why DirecTV is going now with DirecTV owned HSP's in more places for accountability reasons. If you get me as a tech you will get the system installed as if a factory machine installed it on your house (perfection and up to electrical code).

Sloppy wiring, no sealant, not good. But where else would you like the dish? I see a lot of trees around perhaps there was a line of sight issue. Show us where else they could have put it. It looks close enough to the edge to not cause a problem for leaking. If its in the valley of the roof its more hidden than sitting on the top of the house at the peak. You may request that the dish not be put on your roof before installation. I have never heard of a tech going against that customer request.

Guess what you are a statistic, as an x-dish installer I installed satellites on chimneys using tapcons or I installed on a pole mount whatever was less inconspicuous, I used boots to keep moisture out of connections too. You are a victim of a unskilled and untrained sub-contractor paid by the job. when you remove the mast make sure you get a couple shingles and some roof tar and have a 7/16 driver or socket wrench, also prop ladder on soffit not the eve, it is more safe. ...Peace

Also, that is not a dual LNB, it is called a legacy Twin LNB. And it sounds like you need to go get some more acid. you said you were out. I must say, you should not be on the roof if you just finished up all your acid.

Cable is not good cause they only care for them selfs only. Also they don't want to air networks like NFL Network or NHL Network. If they do air them they wanna charge you for it. Now if you go to satalight you get it in you basic package. So insted of paying for it in a package on you bill you pay for it with what ever package you get. Also DircTV is better than Dish cause more channles and yes you can get Playboy and Spice.
