You know, if this is old then would u do it again? it is take 4 min with expression face and then I would glad to see it. Your ASL is perfect for this song.
@yongslicer from what i'm learning through the free classes im taken, no. ASL (American Sign Language) is more like a broken sentence kind of way of 'talking'. ESL would be like if you were born to speak only English.. then that's your 'native tongue'. If you took up ESL, it's a second language.. sorry if this isn't helpful. I'm learning slowly but surely thorough classes : )
This is one of my favorite songs.. I never knew about you until someone one twitter I'm following posted a link to your Diane Swayer special. I watched it and I thought wow that's awesome :). I know a little sign language. I took it in high school for about 2 years. I actually did a video of me signing but it was pretty bad because I hadn't done it in a long time lol. love your videos can't wait to see more :).
According to YouTube's video order, this is your first video... Although this video is perfectly watchable, wow you have really done a good job since then making your videos good video quality, good framerate, and good audio quality. Even back then your ASL was good. I can't imagine how bad I was in ASL in 2007 compared to now lol.
I just found this song and it rocks im deaf and i love this song!!!!!! Was wondering if you made any new video's after you got your teeth pulled I hope all is well ans i hope you keep making video's
Wow I never seen an old video of you like this, Ally. You look so pretty with straight hair. (not that you're not pretty all the time lol)
Anyway, great job! I'm watching all your videos so I can learn more. You make me want to make a few ASL videos. Keep making videos, I'll watch them all!
Your awesome and I enjoy watching your videos...Your a blessing to the deaf community and the hearing aswell. Your gift is uniting the hearing to the nonhearing. I believe you will also encourage other to become interested in learning ASL and becoming interpeters also. Keep up the wonderful work I will keep you in my prayers.
THIS WAS BEAUTIFUL YOU BROUGHT THE SONG TO LIFE,,AND IAM SURE YOU REALLY DID FOR THE HEARING IMPAIRED THIS WAS AMAZING PLUS YOU ARE A BEAUTIFUL GIRLIE TO!!!! :p
I don't know ASL, but I hadn't ever heard the song before, so It was fun for me to keep the volume off and try to imagine what the song sounded like. Then I listened to it. Cool :)
hey i was wondering, what is the order that you sign.. because in one of your how to videos. . i saw that you just kind of skipped the small words like , the and, an, .. yeah. do you know what i mean? if you could.. could you answer that question.. like what order do you do? and how do you know when to just skip words?
asl is done in the order of time topic comment. everythings dragged out. asl wants you to explain EVERYTHING. it's hard to just explain it because it's a visual language not a written language.
Only Signed English (different system), uses all the words. ASL, because of the visual and spatial orientation of the signs, doesn't need the articles "a", "an", and "the". In order to emphasize things without the articles, just make sure that you direct attention to the signs and the placeholders. Look up other ASL songs and you will get the idea.
I read another person's comment on how your facial expression has improved and I mean it in the nicest possible way when I say that you really have come a long way.
By the way, I thought you should know that a friend of mine Signed "Love Story" and while I was helping her gloss it and such, I referenced your video =]
He ally, grab a hold to your seat, cause this post will probably be filled with compliments :).
I first wanted to say what a awesome idea to "Sign" songs here on youtube, second, wanting to teach this to kids that actually are deaf is a great cause i salut you on this,Maybe you should sign some nelly furtado? And third, you're cute :D haha, i can tell by the way you sign you really enjoy what you're doing and besides that im a great judge of character and you missy, got plenty :)
hi... i have been watching your videos and i was wondering if you were still in college for sign language and, i was wondering if you could please sign the song "forever" by chris brown.. thanks,
i like this song but i noticed that your face expression is flat. you didnt show your emotion feeling and no mouth show. i like the way u do that when u sign and u move left to right "whether it's wrong or right". i didnt mean to offend you. if u do facial expression and show emotion feeling about what this song mean, then it will be beautiful!
you are so amazing. I work with the hearing impaired and i showed one the little boys i help your "here i am to worship" video and he loved it he did the signs along with you. hahaha good job God has truly blessed you, with this ability. take care seth ;)
wow I love your videos I hope I can sign like you someday. I find your expressions and the emotions you put into your iterpretations to be very inspiring and something I hope I can achieve someday. My cousin Kelly Jones goes to Baylor University to,I've been loking into 4 year colleges with a good Sign Language Program because I want to learn and eventualy get a teaching degree and become a professor at a Gallaudet college, so did you take sign classes at Baylor or did you learn somewhere else?

Hey Ally , I 've got a question for u... Is there a difference between asl order and esl order, and the concept between both?
thx Kellie
mzkellievictoria 3 years ago
yes there is a difference.
ASL word order is very different. ESL seems to go along with English word order, like we use in everyday terms.
allyballybabe 3 years ago
To kinda reinforce this, ESL is generally seen (by professionals anyway) as a signing system, while ASL is a distinct language.
feitocomfruta 2 years ago
Hey nice job there, signs were clear and accurate. Not much facial expressions, though. It was nice without a doubt. keep it up.

i couldnt agree more, however, i signed this song earlier on in my ASL career.
therefore, my facial expressions were not as fluid and natural.
i do agree that it needs more expression, but i posted it to show how i have progressed.
thank you for the comment!
