  • Hi Chris I like your name...

  • Hi Chris

  • Hi. i want to know how u did the batch file thing.is it a program i can download? if so where? i can't replace the file and i think is because i didn't do the batch file thing

  • i hate recoure hacker it's the most worsest program in the world reosure editor is the most bestest program in the world

  • what about "Shutting down" text?

  • I change it, save it, and then re open it and it says welcome again, but i didnt do the batch files thingy, how do i do that exactly

  • but do u have to create the winstartup folder

  • i can't copy and replace the winlogon.exe.mui to c:\windows\system32\us-US

  • Did u just create the folder winstartup? I haven't got one on my desktop.

  • I haven't got any file called "winlogon.exe.mui" in the "en-US" folder!!!

  • @UltraMegaboss

u must... otherwise ur comp would crash at logon, try showing hidden files

  • @BOS6940

Thank, but I founded the file in an other folder. The file is in the folder called "it-IT", because i'm italian and i've got the italian language.

  • @UltraMegaboss

oh, yeah i forgot other languages lol

  • it wont let me copy the file back to the folder en-US

  • it doesnt let me copy the file back in..

  • @DargetaZ

You need to use TakeControl (are you familiar with it) in order for the Replacer to put the hacked file back...

  • No, whats takecontrol? D:

  • TakeControl is a sort of script, which will - by a modification of registry - add an option "TakeControl" to the right mouse click menu. In Vista, you cannot simply overwrite system file. So you first need to gain its ownership and then replace the file with something (I use "Replacer"). Try the TakeControl on Softpedia and let me know.

  • didnt work for me.....frustrated...

  • what service pack do you have? and are you running 32 or 64 bit?

  • Window vista Home Basic Sp1 32 bit....what the problem? The case is, i can change the winlogon.exe.mui with the Reshacker and i paste it to system32\en-US like in the video. And i log off and it still display the "welcome" text and not the one i want. : (

  • Follow my new video (With windows 7) and use the new version of resource hacker.

Google resource hacker and download the December 2009 setup.

  • @awesomeflame Hi. i want to know how u did the batch file thing.is it a program i can download? if so where? i can't replace the file and i think is because i didn't do the batch file thing

  • thx.... i tried wat you did, but did not see if it works... still, 5 stars!

  • where do you get the winstartup folder??

  • i'm hearing u guys cry about how its non recoverable, heres how u fix that, make another copy outside of the folder, duh

  • .jagex_cache_32!!! you play runescape noob! Nice video btw

  • ok ok...I did, I admit it....lol

    Thx.

  • runescapes awesome wtf you on about add me awesomeflame : snoopdogz4

  • where's the winstartup folder?

  • Right click > New > Folder > Rename

  • by going to the admin cmd.exe and typing net user administrator /active:no

Seams really stupid but it makes windows just that much securer so I'm not complaining

    hope that helps you guys

  • Yes, this is a another perfectly fine way to do this, using the gui. I still prefer commands though and the use of the admin account. I have made another video, but using windows 7 instead. Same idea, just updated. Thanks for explaining it to ppl--I haven't had much time lately.

BTW-I'm learnning java....so I'll make an exe eventually.

  • Once you give ownership to the admin account TrustedInstaller will be removed and as far as I know not recoverable so this is your own choice protection or customization. After you have done that go back to the permissions tab and give yourself full control. You may also have to give yourself full control over the actual logon.mui.exe file by right clicking and selecting security>permissions>full control. Then move the file and its done. Password protect the admin account and disable it

  • ok once there click on the security tab then click on the administrator account (the one your on now) I wouldn't suggest using your admin user account as this may make your system less secure. Then click on the advanced button then click the owner tab. Click edit and make the admin account the owner (NOTICE: TrustedInstaller is not an account however it is a security measure put into place by Microsoft so malicious software can not tamper with your system even when on the highest account. Next

  • ok in order to gain permission you need to give it to yourself however stupid that sounds. Doing this takes a little but here's how its done: go to your command prompt and run it as an administrator (right click and there's an option to) then type: net user administrator /active:yes this will make the hidden actual admin account visible on the log on screen. Next log on as the actual admin and go to the C:\ drive (or your primary drive) right click and go to properties. Next in next comment.

  • D: it keeps saying i dont have permision!

and im the only fawking user! NOOOOOOOO

  • i'm on widows vista sp1 i rtied the new tutorial not works i tried the old there's no 63 file!

  • - I done that just with Resuorse Hacker and it started working after a few days - Thanx!!!

P.S. - How did you - Awesomeflame - get the Hypercam to follow the cursor this way?

  • I seriously don't know I made this over a year ago...I think I right clicked something and changed it to follow....idk

Camtasia Studio is great for making videos if you need to record.

    I'm glad it worked though.

  • Someone needs a bigger hard drive.

  • Yeah, I have a 500GB and a 80GB now :p

    How'd you find me?

  • on the right under awesomeflame , click "more info" . then go to one of the links and it will direct you to a site where you can download the zip or rar file called "winstartup".

  • you need to download it

  • so , naturally i rolled back my restore point and some funny style stuff happened where the restore point was corrupted or some crap not a big deal because i did it like twice before i finally realized i could change it . Now im really screwed, gotta see "Example" everytime i log in now. sounds like a lot for such a simple task. maybe its just my computer . ill still get you the video tho

  • lol, sorry I forgot to tell you that. I forgot myself. I sent you a PM though...

  • i think i screwed up. It finally worked but with an issue. it seems like i didnt even need the batch , but it still said "invalid perameters" but forget that for a second. I was dumb founded on why it didnt work and then like you said, wait for an update. so i installed sp2 and it changed but i used "example" for "Welcome" now i cant change it to what i want .

  • but the file is definintly changed from what reshack is showing just not applied. but like you said , ill wait and update.

  • Thanks , i have a few updates available , ill install them and see what happens. just fyi , when the batch file runs and tries to copy and replace the file it says invalid perameters . sorry to bugg , i just really want to get this figured out. oh and im running ultimate if that makes any difference.

  • Well if it said invalid parameters then there's a real problem, I'm going to try using the batch file again. Could you post a screenshot of the problem and send it?

  • yea , ill get it to you asap

  • I didnt type too long of an intro or outro . Is there a limit to how many characters i can use?

  • Well, there is a limit. I've typed a sentence and it appeared blank. But the way I change it is to modify the "welcome" then log off then back on again. It should change, if not it will change after an update.

  • everything went smooth untill i restarted . It still showed "shutdown" and "welcome" . when i rechecked the mui file it with reshack it still had the changes that were made. What did i do wrong?

  • i dont have the winstart up on my desktop what do i do?

  • download it and put it on your desktop or make a file called winstartup.

  • it dosent let me paste the file back..it says i dont hv permission.....what do i do?

  • well servers :P u got ur own server? can i be mod or admin :]

  • ?...Jagex holds their own servers...and this was made over a year ago, I've stopped playing runescape. It was too repetitive :/ but fun at the time.

  • hahahahaa seens u play runescape 2 :P

  • keeps saying i need permission when doing this action ??

  • try the commands themselves, just edit the cmd by right clicking it and looking for the

    takeown and icacls commands

  • It means you need to Run them as the Admin

  • run what as admin? res hack?

  • it is not working,,ive already complete the steps,,,its not working when i log off or restart nothing's change....where did u get ur easy editing windowlogon.cmd?

  • Its not Working!!!

  • Update your computer and It should change

  • My Problem is that I am copying file to Startup folder that I open that Batch file, it says sucses then I open resours hacker, then I upload that file, (Copy) And it is blank.

  • Blank? If you successfully changed it then your message is way to long. Unless it's something else.

  • If you do it correctly, yes.

If not...well...lets say your computer will not boot.

  • 50-50

  • hey Ive gotten through almost all of this but am stuck at one point. At the point to where I have to paste it back into en-US, I wont let me, the paste command doesnt even show up! I also tried the device you had in the winstartup file, but it tells me it can t locate the file. Whats wrong???

  • Like I said in the discription try not to follow the video.

To paste the file back in en-US run the fully automated editor, press enter, then press 3, and enter.

if that doesn't work pm me.

  • hi,i've gone through all the procedure in changing the 'welcome' at the boot screen, but at the end, it says error .. cause it says something like logged on with unauthorised username ... need help ...

  • "but at the end" at the end of the logon?

I've never had that message before. If you can logon replace the winlogon.exe.mui with the original one. If you need an original copy I'll give you one.

If you can't log on you'll need access to another computer so I can help you.

  • dont say i did it wrong i didnt but it didntwork on my visra hoe preuim sp1 computer

  • If it said access denied try it a few times.

I myself have been having problems, since it changes when it wants, usually after an update.

    I have no idea why.

  • do you need sp1

  • calm down...

just restart the computer and use the commands instead of the .cmd file

  • NAH im over it. thanx anyway

  • Cool it works

  • Where are those 2 .cmd files come from?

  • I made them, why?
