  • Dude she could of fall you guys should fix the bar

  • she looked piiiiised

  • Lolz

  • Her routine was so fuckin awesome the bars couldn't hold any longer

  • Amazing!

  • Talk about bringing down the house!

  • The structure held just long enough for her to finish. That was great.

  • Damn! She just walked away like, "So what?" Sheesh. That is poise under pressure if I've ever seen it. She couldn't have cared less.

  • Whoa! Take that, Tonya Harding with your 'wahhh my laces snapped' BS!

  • гениальная Турищева! Великая на все времена!

  • doesn't even phase her that the bars fell over... :P HAHAH

  • @hayhay909 No, it's careless that they didn't set them right to begin with... she or another gymnast could have been badly hurt.

  • In soviet russia... bar crash on you! lol

  • WIN!

  • finished just

  • I remember that performance. So long ago that colour television was still a novelty. Ludmilla Tourischeva's performances were always filled with so much poise and grace and she always looked so supremely calm. Her reaction to the bars collapsing behind her is the very personification of cool. Such a class act !!

  • This is how we trained back in the '70's. I've got permanent, little indentations in the point of each hip bone from doing the "belly bashing" on bars. Hated bars.

  • Did the judges deduct from her score??????

  • She should of screamed at and taunted the other girls after that . Kinda like giving someone a facial dunk in basketball, taking down the backboard and feeling good about it.

  • @stevelau1933 Thats something an american would do......ha.......Russians let the performance instill respect, just look at Fedor.

  • Wow. Perfect example of sheer professionalism.

  • I bet whoever set the vault in Sydney was responsible for this, too.

  • Wild!!

  • holy! she's badass!!

  • хоть одна сволочь бы обмолвилась о стоикости спортсменки...

  • I was there that day and remember being so shocked that bars could collapse like that, I was only 11 but knew it never normally happened. this is the only time in gymastics that it ever happened and even though the commentator says how well she handles it, you can tell she is gutted beyond belief.

  • @fijago There's actually a similar incident that happened pretty recently in a Dutch gymnastics competition...the coach luckily saved the girl from being crashed under the bars, but she was in the middle of her exercise! Scary stuff...

  • she was supposed to do a back tuck after the hect but she didnt have neough time in the air to do it so she bent her knees which was probably a .5 deduction. If the bars hadnt collapsed she would have made the tuck and stuck the lading.

  • actually she was supposed to do a hect with a full twist.

  • omg lol!

  • Was the guy at the end going to say I wonder if the judges will deduct?

  • probably because she took steps on her landing. i dunno whether the judges took that off her... hmm it would be unfair if they did

  • In those days you were allowed one step on landing in all disciplines

  • looking at it again..she looked as if she's gonna cry coming down the stairs...!!..maybe it did get to her after all..

  • Bitch doesn't even look back. She's thinking "Fuck those goddamn bars, I got no use for that shit". And she doesn't. That is awesome. I wish gymnasts today could be that fierce.

  • Why would she look back? It doesn't matter if the bars collapsed as long as the routine is done.

  • poor girl, she must have felt bad... at least she was ok

  • That's actually funny. As long as she safely dismounted and landed on her feet, it was funny. She's powerful.

  • lol

when ludmilla finish something, there's no place for other. Lud rules

  • Only Ludmilla had that kind of composure!

  • Her and Olga were my favorites then. Ludmilla was just to cool!

  • She said, "Top that bitches!"

  • she's like "I'm so good, the bars couldn't handle it!"

  • Oh my goodness thank God she was okay!

  • that is awesome!

  • wow, the old apparatuses were so dangerous

  • P I M P !!!! the russians are ridiculous

  • one of the most baller moments in gymnastics

  • probably the only baller moment in gymnastics

  • Haha dang, she just walks away like a pimp! Haha

  • that was awesome!

i mean... the moves... not the whole bars falling thing.

  • Who cares what happened behind? She did great performance, that's most important.

  • I lOOOOve this clip!

  • I remember that moment so well. She dealt with you so beautifully, a true professional!

  • I hapened them? Was she last to perform that day?

I guess her careless about what hapened shows how severe russian were with his athletes.

  • its called "total focus"..lol

  • Comment removed

  • hah, i love how she just casually walks away

  • Funny

  • thanks

  • Tourischeva rocks!!!!

  • i don't know. i really dont know how she won!!!

  • ahhaa that is great. not much info on this fall

  • Did the judges let her repeat the dissmout or did they just count it as if she did it perfect?

  • Yes, she won gold - cup and all 4 gold medals.

  • London 1975 World Cup

  • i dont know the score but i think she did get gold.

  • 9.800

  • she totally owned those bars

  • Do you know what she got for a score?

  • because in the '70's and early '80's, the bars were like that but, the routines were used for these bars.

  • why are they so close together?

  • That's the way things were back then. The original name is "uneven parallel bars" because it was the men's PB that had been set at different heights. Watch some video from the 1950s and 1960s and you will see they are even closer together than this. Giant swings and the like are a fairly new phenomenon, since the 1980s.

  • Just because they're at different heights doesnt mean they're not parallel...

  • It's uneven "parallel bars" - yes, of course they are still parallel, but the term "uneven parallel bars" originates from "parallel bars" that were set at uneven heights. It originates from the men's "parallel bars" not from "bars that are parallel."

  • @x8swift8x because it was the 70's
