no he wasn't able to. In the comic, during the first invasion of China led by Absolute Godless (the Japanese warlord), Nameless (when he was still very young) was able to defeat him with one strike. But Godless got more powerful between then and his second planned attack, by improving his offensive skills with the Kill Fist and his defense with the modified stolen Shaolin Secret, Golden Shield. Even Wind, Cloud, and Nameless together were not able to defeat him.

.........I don't read the comics much, but I do follow them, I thought nameless only fought that godless guy once(like u said, in their 1st encounter), when godless guy came back, wind and cloud took care of him didn't they?....or do I got my events all mixed up?

.......nameless has heaven's sword ability, which is more than enough to defeat lord godless, no?

If I remember correctly, I don't think the three of them ever got a chance to gang up on Godless all at once without having been drained by some major fights/battles before confronting Godless. On the island where Godless lives, Wind and Cloud had to defeat Godless' insanely powerful younger brother before confronting Godless. I can't remember exactly if Nameless did join W&C together in a fight against Godless, but I know that his attack was surely not powerful enuf to pierce Godless' shield.

You are right, Nameless is the most powerful in Fung Wan. They had to tone him down (through poisoning) in the movie to make Godless out as invincible. Wind with his demonic powers alone is already an equal or higher than Godless.

I think it's due too someone else doing a Storm Riders 2 using the same characters, but different actors, so to keep from confusing those of us who want to see THIS ONE...a different name was given.  BTW....Storm Riders 2 SUX.

Nope. It's a rights issue. They either failed to settle it to reclaim the name, or the production team just decided it was too expensive and time consuming.

So they settled with Storm Warriors.

Storm Riders 2 = The taiwanese episodic series, with a different cast.

Storm Warriors = The theatrical sequel to 'Storm Riders: Conquer's Land under the Heavens', of which both Aaron Kwok and Ekin Cheng reprised their roles for.

Yea, the TV series' low budget just didn't mesh well with their high ambitions. However, it wasn't a movie. "Storm Riders 2" the tv syndication was released in two formats.

1: A TV episodic series spanning for a few dozen episodes.

2: A condensed version of the TV show, which clocks at 2 hours I believe? Basically several dozen episodes stuffed into 2 hours.. lol.

just watched it, the story is unoriginal & lags thanks to the annoying romantic subplot. But my god are the fight scenes amazing, truly incredible special effects work in this film, Hollywood standard to be honest. Just leave your brain at home & enjoy the eye candy :)

the brief plot of 'series 2' circles around the dragon soul. mainly, cloud has lost his memory when he fell off the cliff when he was fighting the evil wind, and over (approx...i forgot the exactly numer) 10yrs wind is trying to find cloud. then comes a bunch of ppl from the 'iron gates' (some clan) looking for cloud's sword for it's power. then another evil dude 'king sky', who absorbed the power of the phoenix soul, lurks up looking for the seven swords to slay the dragon.

and series 3 to me is pretty much a bunch of bs, mainly talks about the wind and cloud's sons. BUT the story blows, drawing blows along with LOTS of drawing errors. the computer graphic design and coloring sure is quite dazzling, however, i prefer the hand-drawn style, much more efforts and details. btw the author doesn't rly draw it anymore, his workers do.

Also, thanks for the brief summary on the series thus far. I really wish that the Storm Riders english-translated manhua could have continued in it's publication.

It took ten years because nobody went ahead for a sequel. Which is strange because the first film was a financial success. A third film seems less likely now since 'Storm Warriors' did not meet it's projected profit.
