I'm a teenager (whose a guy) and I'm crying. I feel so bad, hearing the boy scream. And, when he said to bring soldiers too, I felt so bad to hear that. How terrible it is to be that young with a little sister, locked in a restroom.
In the UK hardly anyone has to worry about gun violence.. because guns are banned. Guns are a poor deterrents which are more likely to get the owner of the gun shot than protect them
@Rob16840 That's because it isn't as easy for criminals to get guns in the UK. I bet I could walk down the street from my house and get a couple guns illegally if I wanted to... That's what I get for living so damn close to Mexico....
@Rob16840 That's because it isn't as easy for criminals to get guns in the UK. I bet I could walk down the street from my house and get a couple guns illegally if I wanted to... That's what I get for living so damn close to Mexico....
those poor kids are going to be traumatized after this. i can guarantee one or both of those kids will be carrying in their future and they will always be prepared to protect themselves.
This was in the news pretty recently. They were fine the invaders left the house when they found out the boy called 911. The story ended good except the kids may have some trauma from that. the main thing is they are safe now.
omg this is insane...those kidds are gonna be damaged for life..omg....this shit.....fucking ppl piss me off...i hope those fuckers got what they deserved
brave young lad.i know the feeling..very scary.i say to anyone out there who robs a house full of people for everything they have ever worked for-your a coward
This made me cry... he is such a brave, smart boy, bringing his sister in the bathroom and locking the door, bringing a cordless phone into the bathroom so he could call the police
this is why we need our guns... if someone breaks into your house and threatens your family are you going to call the cops and wait for them to get there??? who knows how long that might take. just shoot the damn robbers.. police only uphold the law AFTER a crime has been done but by then it could have been too late... protect your self
I, too, got teary eyed at the "bring soldiers too" from young Carlos. Since then I have viewed a part of the video with Carlos and the dispatcher together - obviously everyone was "okay." The operator was a bit shook when the thugs broke into the bathroom (she says as much) but in the end, all seems well. Carlos tells everyone that him Mom makes them practice 911 calls every day - THAT was a GREAT idea - and now she's been rewarded for such smart thinking. KUDOS MOM!
I guess they were close enough -- the sob's broke thru the door (who knows what trauma that will permanently cost kid) while kid was talking on phone. I doubt it was the only closed door -- likely they heard voices; i.e. they didn't break into all the closets 1st. We can't 2nd guess at possible expense of lives.
Actually she may have dispatched immediately for all we know; point is u don't encourage people to make sounds when they are hiding from home invaders/murderers.
Who says the invaders were right on the otherwise of the door when the kid was talking? It wouldn't have made a difference, when the invader saw that the door was locked he would have broke it down regardless of wether or not he heard someone inside it or not.
Although I do think the dispatcher waited too long to dispatch, you have to remember that she can't send police somewhere if it's a prank or an overreaction.
Aaaww I was crying when I heard them screem!!! Thank god they r ok!!! I admire that little boy. I can't imagine how scared they all would have been I really hope hey r all ok nd I hope that lil bot noes how brave, smart and watt a hero he was to his family! I'm still crying... :(
The dispatcher was taking care of the kid, she absolutely did the right thing. Asking questions is a way to calm someone down. She had the police on the way within 30 seconds. That's pretty good response time. How long did it take police to arrive?
The dispatcher is likely a wonderful person with a heart of gold. But if there is a killer on the other side of a door you should not encourage talking -- perhaps to just have the child listening to her comforting voice and to shush till help came would be an improvement in training procedures for the future.
I must agree, this was not a "My mom had a heart attack, what should I do?" situation...there were criminals on the other side of the wall!!! it was IMPERATIVE to have kept that kid quiet!! It's only the Grace of God that those monsters did not shoot and kill those children and parents at that point when they realized the boy had been on phone.
no the fucking dispatcher thought it was a prank at fucking first... that fucking disptacher wasted 30 seconds and thats enough time to trace the call and find out where he lives fucking idiot dispatcher
Hit the wall and not the child Take a deep breath, dont get riled You were once an infant too Carers thought the world of you You grew up into your teens Anger surfaced, violent scenes Break the circle dont be tethered Or you find the family severed Rid the land of Child Abuse Banish every false excuse See them grow up in delight Childhood valued. Get it right.
"There's some guy who's going to kill my mom and dad," he said breathlessly. "Bring cops. A lot of them! ... And soldiers, too."The suspects eventually broke into the bathroom and someone screamed. The 911 operator sounded shaken as she explained what happened to her colleagues.
NORWALK, Ca A terrified 7-yr boy begged emergency dispatchers to send police to his Southern California home where three armed robbers threatened his parents, according to a recording of the call released Tuesday.Gunmen broke into the boy's home Tue morning and announced that they would take whatever they wanted, Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Steve Kenny said. The boy and his 6-year-old sister hid unnoticed in the locked bathroom while the suspects threatened his mom and dad at gunpoint.
ok they left and hurt no one... just cause you cried like a bitch don't mean burglars get death. ha ha... who opens the door with no gun at hand. shit happens you learn and laugh.
This call made me really think about the 2nd Amendment (right to have a gun). If we take away all the guns only thugs like these will have them and we will be helpless as they commit home invasions and shoot whomever they want. This is the new thing now, home invasions. We need to protect our homes and our families. When I hear people pushing gun control because they had a bad experience it really reminds me of that saying; throwing the baby out with the bath water.
I used to be for gun control, but all it will do is keep guns out of good peoples' hands. The thugs will still be able to get them illegally, just like they have for decades.
Have you ever watched "The Road"? Things like this will happen on a MUCH GRANDER scale. The world we are living in is nothing compared to a nuclear winter.
@megarouge2001 There's a difference between banning guns and gun control. I'm a CCW holder in the United States, but I find it absolutely repugnant that any felon, drug user, or mentall-disturbed person can acquire any sort of firearm they want as long as they visit a gun show with some cash.
Responsible owners should be HAPPY to submit to safeguards ensuring the likelihood of them having to use their firearms against an armed criminal is as low as possible.
yes kids are safe and so are the parents when the guys asked who the boy was talking on the phone with he told them he called 911 and they ran off...nobody was hurt..THANK GOD!
they do have tracking ... i have no idea why dispatchers ask stupid questions and take time.. see if they would have called and hang up the cops would have gotten there faster.. unbelievable.. and all 911 dispatchers are like her.

Kenny said the suspects grabbed the boy and asked who he called. He responded, "911." The gunmen fled without taking anything or injuring the family.
"If not for the brave and educated actions of the 7-year-old boy, this might have ended tragically," said sheriff's Capt. Pat Maxwell.
The three men remain at large.
