@TheDjentBoy I'm sorry if my lack of knowledge is irritating you sir. Surely you have better things to do than waste your time answering an 18 year old "troll'" as you put it. I didn't write the comment for you to show everyone how much you know, and how much wiser you are. And Btw, have written to Hufschmid, got no answer´. So i thought I would ask someone who actually enjoys telling people about his interests and gear. Chappers if you didn't get that. But berate away oh wise one.
@EdwardWDHarris Hello Edward, can I help you with any questions you may have? I certainly enjoy talking about my passion which is guitars but you are judging me a little fast here because you've actually never contacted me otherwise you would have received a reply from me :)
@hufschmidguitars1 Hey hufschmid sorry about the ranting. But I own two gloss finished guitars, which don't require that much maintenance in terms of the finish. As far as I know. I live in denmark, and the summers, in my apartment can get very hot, and the winters get very cold. So i was wondering if that would result in one of your guitars needing more attention than normal. Or if it just depends on me making sure to keep my room at the necessary humidity and temperature?
@EdwardWDHarris Temperature is not really a problem unless it becomes extreme... What is important is the ambient humidity content in the room you will be keeping the instrument.... I recommend you purshase a hygrometer and check that humidity to make sure you are in between 40-50% moisture content. It is wrong to think that a lacquered guitar does not require more maintenance. Most guitars in music shops have sharp fret edges, that's because of the dry climat and the fingerboard shrinking.
@EdwardWDHarris You will find a very informative article on my website which clearly explains and indicates exactly what to do to in order to take proper care of any musical instrument "mywebsiteurl/detailsdotcom"
@TheDjentBoy Black machines aren't mass produced, they are custom built by one dude so bad example. And I have yet to meet somebody that owns a mass produced instrument and oils the neck. :P. Which is why my question was refering to a hufschmid guitar. On black machines website there is no mention of guitar care. So i'm guessing that not every one points this out that it maybe does depend on the oils used to finish the guitars. I'm no expert, I'm just guessing xD So feel free to correct me :)
@TheDjentBoy Yes but most mass produced guitars don't have an oil finish, and that actually requires more maintenance. I was just wondering how much maintenance was actually necessary. :)
Hey chappers i'm considering getting me my own custom hufschmid :D But I am slightly reluctant due to the fact that, on his website he has detailed instructions on how to take care of the wood(humidity, temperature, oiling etc.). And it just seems as though it might be a lot of work to maintain one of these guitars :/. Are you as meticulous as hufschmid would advise or what are your thoughts? Love the guitar btw, and the playing ;D
What's the body wood? That is one shrill guitar! But I've never known that they pack guitars so good before sending it out! I won't hesitate to buy any online anymore ;) I've got a question Chappers: Did you use a Vox Valvetronix amp before? I have an old Roland Cube 30-X and I was wondering if you'd recommend the Valvetronix over the Cube :/
Epic win for Hufschmids, but whilst this video was playing I didn't realise I had the competition video open in another tab, it sounded like an awesome cryptic illusion towards the competition that hadn't been announced yet under the effects in this video featuring random snippets of your voice talking about it haha
Talking about new guitars, Rob im proud to tell you that i just got my first Gibson, its an SG standard in Heritage Cherry :D hope u monkey lord approve of them! :)
Really a wish i had a new Hufschmid guitar on my doorstep on monday morning!! There really sweet was on the site last night and found some real beauties :)
Sorry, I think it looks ugly, and I prefer the sound of the ML1 and ML 2 over this .. and at a fraction of the price too I'm guessing .. it's a win if it's free :)
Niiiice piece of gear - something else to add to my list. What do think of Hufschmid Pickups, Rob, specifically the "Corrosion" that was showcased on their YouTube channel recently?
it looks kina like the opposite of the ml1, a t type guitar with a strat headstock. sounds great, what wood does he use for the fingerboard? looks awesome.
@m1234n1234 it looks like a kill switch to me, a killswitch kills the power so you can make a kind of rapid fire noise by pressing it on and off quickly :-)
It just goes to show you, you don't need tubes for great tone. I've gotten some unexpectedly amazing sounds out of the cheapest solid state amps, like the Ibanez practice amp I've had for years. It helps if you have a decent guitar, like my Charvel San Dimas (or Rob's beautiful Hufshcmid)
2 things: 1. what kind of guitar is that? and 2. This is my absolute favorite channel on youtube. there should be a chappers TV channel! BBC, ABC, I don't give a crap... Chappers for president!!!!
When you got the ML1 witht the Floyd and the Sustainer Kit, I asked myself, if you could ever in your life take another guitar and enjoy it as much as the ML1 Custom.
Then you got this awesome box full of win from switzerland.
You lucky ******. :D
This guitar is mindblowing.
Dude, take good care of that monster. Make her scream!
Wait nevermind I didn't watch the whole video its a kill switch. Next time I will wait until the video has been concluded to comment. I ask for your forgiveness dear Monkey Lord.
I thought for a moment there I'd have to kill you, because you had bought a natural-finished PGM... But then you got it out and, well... Your life may still be in danger.
I watched various stages of this guitar's construction via the interwebs! Technology is the ultimate win. Next to epic wooden pieces of musical wintacularness! WOOOO! \m/
Hey Rob, what do you think about shipping guitars in boxes? It may be just be me, but I don't really like cardboard, peanuts, and bubble wrap protecting my expensive instrument :(
@orangyalt Almost every guitar I have ever purchased has come packed in a card box. This one was packed perfectly, it's worth saying that this was not just a card box - he has even placed wooden support slats inside for extra security...
Trust me, after spending literally weeks making a guitar by hand, the last thing Hufschmid would do is ship it with inadequate protection.
Very Nice!! Gotta love that reverse CBS headstock on a t-stylin shredder. Neck unfinished? Looks like it maybe. Good for you, looks and sounds great. Enjoy!!
